Sagay, officially the City of Sagay (; ; ), is a Cities of the Philippines#Legal classification, component city in the Provinces of the Philippines, province of Negros Occidental, Philippines. According to the 2020 census, it has a population of 148,894 people. Etymology The name of the city comes from the semi-spherical shell called "sigay", which can be found in the area. History Spanish era Sagay was originally called Argüelles when Teniente, Lt. Francisco Rodríguez and Basilio Córdova founded it in 1860 in the mouth of the Bulanon River. Later, by the order of the Spanish governor the town was transferred to Pueblo de Magallanes (now known as Old Sagay) in honor of Ferdinand Magellan. Fabrica (est. 1994) is a communications research centre in Treviso, Italy financed by the Benetton Group. It produces ''Colors'' magazine amongst other projects. The centre aims to combine culture with industry and offers young people the opportunity for creative growth and multicultural, multidisciplinary interchange. The centre is housed in a 17th-century villa near Villorba, restored and significantly enlarged by architect Tadao Ando. It was originally under the guidance of Godfrey Reggio and Oliviero Toscani. Previous directors include Laura Pollini and Dan Hill. La Fábrica is a former cement factory that was converted to offices and habitation space in the 1970s by Ricardo Bofill Taller de Arquitectura (RBTA). It is located in Sant Just Desvern near Barcelona. History The cement company ''La Auxiliar de la Construcción S.A.'' (LACSA), which had its origins in the mountain village of Campins, Barcelona, Campins, was formed in 1916 or 1917 and built the original factory. It registered its "Sanson" trademark in 1920. Gârbou () is a commune located in Sălaj County, Transylvania, Romania.
