FAI Cup
The Football Association of Ireland Senior Challenge Cup (FAI Cup), known as the Sports Direct FAI Cup for sponsorship reasons, is a knock-out association football competition contested annually by teams from the Republic of Ireland (as well as Derry City F.C., Derry City from Northern Ireland). Organised by the FAI (Football Association of Ireland), the competition is currently sponsored by ''Sports Direct''. It was known as the Free State Cup from 1923 to 1936. Shamrock Rovers F.C., Shamrock Rovers hold the record of most wins with 25. The current holders are Drogheda United F.C. who won their 2nd title on 10 November 2024, defeating Derry City F.C. 2-0 at Aviva Stadium. Venues Since the early 1920s until the 1980s, all but a handful of FAI Cup finals were held at Dalymount Park, Dublin. 2025 FAI Cup
The 2025 FAI Cup, known as the Sports Direct FAI Cup for sponsorship reasons, is the 105th edition of the Republic of Ireland's primary national cup competition. It features teams from the League of Ireland Premier Division and the League of Ireland First Division, First Division, as well as teams from the regional leagues of the Republic of Ireland football league system. The 2025 FAI Cup winners are set to enter the first qualifying round of the 2026–27 UEFA Europa League. Drogheda United are the defending champions, having won their second FAI Cup the 2024 FAI Cup, previous year. Tolka Park
Tolka Park () is an Ireland, Irish association football ground located in the Northside Dublin, north Dublin suburb of Drumcondra, Dublin, Drumcondra, on the northern banks of the River Tolka. It is currently the home ground of League of Ireland club Shelbourne F.C., Shelbourne men's and Shelbourne F.C. (women), women's senior sides. The stadium formerly held 9,680 people, but this has been scaled down in recent times due to health and safety regulations in the venue, mainly concerning the 'New' and Ballybough stands. Bray Wanderers
Bray Wanderers Football Club are an Irish association football club playing in the League of Ireland First Division. The club in its present form was founded in 1942 in Bray, and was known until 2010 as ''Bray Wanderers A.F.C.'' Alton United
Alton United F.C. is a defunct Irish football club who were based in Belfast, Northern Ireland and played in the Falls District League. During their time in the Falls District League, Alton United played their home matches in the Falls Road area of Belfast at Shauns Park and also at Celtic Park, the home ground of Belfast Celtic, on the Donegall Road in West Belfast. The Falls League was affiliated to the Dublin-based Football Association of Ireland, which had been formed in 1921 as a breakaway from the Belfast-based Irish Football Association. The Partition of Ireland () was the process by which the Government of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland (UK) divided Ireland into two self-governing polities: Northern Ireland and Southern Ireland (the area today known as the Republic of Ireland, or simply Ireland).
