Blanca Errázuriz
Blanca Elena Errázuriz Vergara (9 April 1894 – 20 March 1940), also known as Bianca de Saulles, was a Chilean socialite and the former wife of football player and businessman John de Saulles. In August 1917, Errázuriz fatally shot de Saulles multiple times during a disagreement over the custody of their son. After a highly publicized and sensational trial, Errázuriz was acquitted of her ex-husband's murder. Early life and marriage Errázuriz was born in Viña del Mar, Chile, the eldest daughter of Guillermo Errázuriz Urmeneta and of Blanca Vergara Alvarez, a beauty known as the Star of Santiago, and thus a member of the politically influential Errázuriz family, of Basque descent. José Antonio Errázuriz
José Antonio de Errázuriz y Madariaga (September 14, 1747 – October 29, 1821) was a Chilean priest and political figure. He served as President of the Senate of Chile in 1814. José Antonio Errázuriz was of Basque descent. Errázuriz was born in Santiago, the son of Francisco Javier de Errázuriz y Larraín and of María Loreto de Madariaga. He became a lawyer on April 18, 1768 and was later ordained as a priest in 1770. After the death of Bishop José Martínez de Aldunate, he was named capitular vicar (apostolic caretaker) of the Santiago diocese, position he held until his death. As such, he actively participated in the independence movement in Chile. In March 1814, he was elected President of the Consultive Senate of Chile, and remained as such until the closing of the sessions in July 1814, when the Spanish "reconquista" dissolved the domestic institutions. Rafael Valentín Errázuriz Urmeneta (August 10, 1861 - December 26, 1923) was a Chilean politician and diplomat. Rafael Valentín Errázuriz was born in Santiago, the son of Maximiano Errázuriz Valdivieso and of Amalia Urmeneta Quiroga. He completed his secondary studies at the Instituto Nacional, and later at the Universidad de Chile where he studied law. He was admitted to the bar on August 12, 1881. He joined the Conservative party very young; and on October 10, 1889, Errázuriz married Elvira Valdés Ortúzar, and together they had 6 children. Errázuriz came from a well-known winemaking family. Later he took over Panquehue Errázuriz, the family's wine estate. Errázuriz was elected deputy several times, first for ''Ovalle'' (period 1888–1891), then for ''Illapel, Ovalle and Combarbalá'' (period 1891–1894) and for ''Lebu, Cañete and Arauco'' (period 1894–1897 and 1897–1900). Paz Errázuriz (born 2 February 1944 in Santiago, Chile) is a Chilean photographer. Errázuriz documented marginalized communities such as sex workers, psychiatric patients, and circus performers during the military dictatorship of Chile. Errázuriz's has said about her work: "They are topics that society doesn't look at, and my intention is to encourage people to dare to look." She was a teacher at a primary school when Augusto Pinochet overtook Chile's Presidential Palace in 1973, inspiring her to begin her photography career. She is the co-founder of the Association of Independent Photographers (AFI). Originally titled the "Asociación de Fotógrafos Independientes," she helped create the AFI in 1981 to make it easier for artists in Chile to find legal support and organize group art shows. Maximiano Errázuriz Valdivieso (February 21, 1832 – November 17, 1890) was a Chilean politician, industrialist and winemaker of Basque descent. Early history Maximiano Errazuriz was born in Santiago, in 1832, the son of Francisco Javier de Errázuriz y Aldunate and of his second wife, Rosario Fernández de Valdivieso y Zañartu (sister to Archbishop Rafael Valentín Valdivieso).
