Sherry Edmundson Fry
Sherry Edmundson Fry (September 29, 1879 – June 9, 1966) was an American sculptor, who also played a prominent role in U.S. Army camouflage during World War I. Early years Fry was born in Creston, Iowa. After completing high school, he enrolled at the Art Institute of Chicago, where he studied sculpture with Lorado Taft. He then moved to Paris, where he attended the Académie Julian and the École des Beaux-Arts, and worked with Frederick MacMonnies, who had been a student of the famous 19th-century American sculptor, Augustus Saint-Gaudens. Judging from books and articles on American sculpture in the decade prior to World War I, Fry was apparently thought to have been a promising young artist, at a time sometimes referred to as "the golden age of sculpture." Sarah Emma Edmonds (born Sarah Emma Evelyn Edmondson, married name Seelye, alias Franklin Flint Thompson; December 1841 – September 5, 1898) was a Canadian-born woman who claimed to have served as a man with the Union Army as a nurse and spy during the American Civil War. Although recognized for her service by the United States government, some historians dispute the validity of her claims as some of the details are demonstrably false, contradictory, or uncorroborated. Hec Edmundson
Clarence Sinclair "Hec" Edmundson (August 3, 1886 – August 6, 1964) was an American basketball and track coach. A native of Moscow, Idaho, and a 1910 graduate of the University of Idaho, Edmundson coached at his alma mater (1916–18) and the University of Washington (1920–47), compiling a 508–204 () overall record in 29 seasons. Edmundson also coached the track teams and served on the NCAA Basketball Committee from 1941 to 1946. Olive Edmundson
Olive Mary Edmundson (née Harrisson) (1881 - 1972) was a British horticulturalist who was denied a scholarship at the Royal Horticultural Society Garden in 1898. Her parents were Henry and Louis Ann Harrisson. Harrisson attended Swanley Horticultural College. She was awarded the highest number of marks in the Royal Horticultural Society ''Certificate in Practical Horticulture''. The prize was to work in the Royal Horticultural Society garden in Chiswick, £5,000 and a scholarship. Her success was rejected by the Royal Horticultural Society, who only accepted men at the time. This was despite women making up half of the top candidates. Harrisson was supported by Reverend William Wilks, then secretary of the Royal Horticultural Society.
