European Men's Artistic Gymnastics Championships
The European Men's Artistic Gymnastics Championships are an annual series of artistic gymnastics championships for male gymnasts from European countries organised by the European Union of Gymnastics. They take place in two biennial formats; in even years they take place in tandem with a junior men's competition, and historically have included a team event, but not an individual all-around. In odd years, they are held in tandem with the European Women's Artistic Gymnastics Championships, and include a team competition. These events are sometimes called the European Individual Artistic Gymnastics Championships. Despite the alternating formats, all winners are considered European champions with one medal table. The event is not to be confused with the gymnastics program of the European Games, whose champions are crowned as European Games champions, but not European champions. Miroslav Cerar (gymnast)
Miroslav Cerar (; born 28 October 1939) is a Yugoslav former gymnast and lawyer of Slovene ethnicity who won the pommel horse event at the 1964 and 1968 Summer Olympics. He is also a four-time World champion and a ten-time European champion. Domestically, Cerar won 13 national all-around titles and was chosen eight times as Yugoslavia's Athlete of the Year. He was awarded the Silver Olympic Order by the International Olympic Committee. He is a co-founder of the Olympic Committee of Slovenia and a member of the executive committee of the European Fair Play Movement. Early life Cerar was born on 28 October 1939 in Ljubljana, to parents Pavla and Ivan. His father was a naval officer during World War II who spent four years at the Dachau concentration camp. Mikhail Voronin
Mikhail Yakovlevich Voronin (; 26 March 1945 – 22 May 2004) was a Soviet and Russian gymnast who competed for the Soviet Union in the late 1960s and early 1970s. He won seven medals, including two gold, at the 1968 Summer Olympics, as well as two silver medals at the 1972 Summer Olympics. Career Voronin trained at Dynamo in Moscow and became an Honoured Master of Sports of the USSR in 1966. He won national titles in the all-around (1968–71) and on the rings (1966–67, 1969–72), pommel horse (1967, 1969–70), parallel bars (1967, 1969), high bar (1971) and floor exercise (1966). He won the all-around and rings titles at the 1966 World Artistic Gymnastics Championships. Sergey Diomidov
Sergey Viktorovich Diomidov (; 9 July 1943 – 10 March 2024) was a Soviet gymnast who competed in the 1964 Summer Olympics and in the 1968 Summer Olympics The 1968 Summer Olympics (), officially known as the Games of the XIX Olympiad () and officially branded as Mexico 1968 (), were an international multi-sport event held from 12 to 27 October 1968, in Mexico City, Mexico. Viktor Lisitsky
Viktor Nikitovich Lisitsky (; 18 October 1939 – 13 June 2023) was a Russian gymnast. He competed in all artistic gymnastics events at the 1964 and 1968 Summer Olympics and won five silver medals, three individual in 1964 and two with the Soviet team, in 1964 and 1968. At the European championships Lisitsky won three titles in 1965 (rings, vault and pommel horse), three in 1967 (rings, vault and horizontal bar), and one in 1969 (horizontal bar), and finished second five times. At the World championships, he only won two team silver medals, in 1962 and 1970. Franco Menichelli (born 3 August 1941) is a retired Italian gymnast. He competed in all artistic gymnastics events at the 1960, 1964 and 1968 Olympics and won one gold, one silver, and three bronze medals.
