Euroleague
The EuroLeague is a European men's professional basketball club competition. The league is widely recognised as the top-tier and the most prestigious men's basketball league in Europe. The league consists of 20 teams, of which 16 are given long-term licences and wild cards, making the league a semi-closed league. The league was first organized by FIBA in 1958, subsequently by ULEB in 2000 and then solely by Euroleague Basketball. The competition was introduced in 1958 as the FIBA European Champions Cup (renamed the FIBA EuroLeague in 1996), which operated under FIBA's umbrella until Euroleague Basketball was created for the 2000–01 season. The FIBA European Champions Cup and the EuroLeague are considered to be the same competition, with the change of name being simply a re-branding. Zare Markovski (; born October 28, 1960, in Skopje) is a Macedonian former professional basketball player and head coach. Career Zare Markovski as player played in KK Rabotnički and MZT Skopje. Marco Mordente (born January 7, 1979) is an Italian former professional basketball player. He also represented the Italian national basketball team. He played at the point guard position. Career In 1998 while he was playing for Olimpia Milano he lost the final match of Saporta Cup against Žalgiris Kaunas; in 2003 his team, Siena, reached the third place in Euroleague. Massimo "Bullo" Bulleri (born 10 September 1977) is an Italian professional basketball coach and former player. Mindaugas Katelynas (born 16 May 1983) is a Lithuanian professional basketball player. Playing career Born in Alytus, Lithuanian Soviet Socialist Republic, Lithuanian SSR, Soviet Union, Katelynas grew up with Alytus youth basketball team. In 2001, he accepted a scholarship at the United States's USU-College of Eastern Utah, College of Eastern Utah, which participated in NJCAA tournaments. Two years later, he moved to University of Tennessee at Chattanooga, Tennessee-Chattanooga of NCAA's Division I (NCAA), Division I. Ariel Filloy (born March 11, 1987) is an Argentine-Italian professional basketball player who last played for Pallacanestro Trieste.. He also plays for the Italian national basketball team. His father and elder brother also played basketball professionally. Pape Sow (pronounced "Pop So"; born 22 November 1981) is a Senegalese former professional basketball player who played for the Toronto Raptors of the NBA and for several European and Asian teams. College career Sow is fluent in three different languages, English, French, and his native Wolof. Sow attended college at California State University, Fullerton, in California, United States. Richard Mason Rocca (born November 6, 1977) is an American born Italian retired professional basketball player who played for the Italy national basketball team, Italian National Basketball Team.
