EuroBasket 2015
EuroBasket 2015 was the 39th edition of the EuroBasket championship that was organized by FIBA Europe. It was co-hosted by Croatia, France, Germany, and Latvia, making it the first EuroBasket held in more than one country. It started on 5 September and ended on 20 September 2015. The top two teams ( and ) qualified to the Basketball at the 2016 Summer Olympics – Men's tournament, 2016 Summer Olympics. The next five teams (, , , and the ) advanced to the 2016 FIBA World Olympic Qualifying Tournaments for Men, World Olympic Qualifying Tournaments. and later qualified due to Serbia and Italy hosting two of the Olympic qualifying tournaments while also qualified as an invitee. Spain won their third title by defeating Lithuania 80–63 in the final. France won bronze on home soil defeating Serbia (81–68). History During the British Mandate of Palestine period Hapoel had a bitter rivalry with Maccabi and organized its own competitions, with the exception of football, the only sport in which all the organizations played each other. At the time, Hapoel took no part in the ''Eretz Israel Olympic Committee'', which was controlled by Maccabi, and instead sought for international ties with similar workers sports organizations of socialist parties. Therefore, Hapoel became a member of SASI in 1927 and later was a member of CSIT. Maccabi Rishon LeZion ( he, מכבי ראשון לציון) is a basketball club based in Rishon LeZion, Israel. The club plays in the Liga Leumit, the second tier of Israeli basketball. Vincent Florent Antoine Collet (born 6 June 1963) is a French former professional basketball player and a current professional basketball coach. Currently, he is the head coach of the senior men's France national team and Metropolitans 92 of the LNB Pro A.
