The Somali Democratic Party (SDP; ), formerly the Ethiopian Somali People's Democratic Party, was a political party in Ethiopia, created by the ruling Ethiopian People's Revolutionary Democratic Front (EPRDF) after refusing Somali demands for self-determination in 1993. Ahmed Shide () is an Ethiopian- Somali politician who is serving as the Minister of Finance since October 2018. He was the Minister of Communication Affairs from April until Abiy Ahmed cabinet dissolved the ministry in October 2018. He was the former chair of the Somali political party of the Somali Regional State. He is a member of the federal parliament and was a member of the ruling party Ethiopian Somali People's Democratic Party (ESPDP). He is also member of Prosperity Party. He has also been serving as Minister of Finance in the government of Prime Minister Abiy Ahmed since 2018. Afar National Democratic Party
The Afar National Democratic Party (, ANDP; , QADB) was a political party in Ethiopia. At the legislative elections held on 15 May 2005, the party won 8 seats, all from the Afar Region. The current Minister of Social Affairs and the Deputy Chairman of Pastoralist Affairs are members of the party. It was reported that the ANDP was created in the latter half of 1999 from a merger of the Afar Liberation Front (ALF) and the Afar People's Democratic Organization with three smaller organizations—the Afar National Liberation Front, the Afar Revolutionary Democratic Unity Front (ARDUF) and the Afar National Democratic Movement. The Southern Ethiopian People's Democratic Movement (SEPDM) was a political party in Ethiopia. At the legislative elections on 15 May 2005, the party was part of the Ethiopian People's Revolutionary Democratic Front, that won 327 out of 527 seats in the Council of People's Representatives. Originally known as the Southern Ethiopia Peoples Democratic Front, the SEPDM was founded in 1992.
