Equestrian At The 2016 Summer Olympics – Team Jumping
The team jumping in equestrian at the 2016 Summer Olympics in Rio de Janeiro was held at National Equestrian Center on 14, 16 and 17 August. The medals were presented by Camiel Eurlings, IOC member, The Netherlands and Ingmar De Vos, President of the FEI. Competition format Five rounds of jumping were conducted in total. The second and third rounds were used for the team jumping event. Final rankings were based on the sum of scores of the three best riders from both rounds. A jump-off was held to break a tie for the bronze medal position. Álvaro Affonso de Miranda Neto (born 5 February 1973), more commonly known as Álvaro de Miranda or "Doda" Miranda, is an Olympic-class Brazilian show jumping rider. He was married to Athina Onassis. He is president of the organizing committee behind the Athina Onassis International Horse Show, which debuted in 2007 as the fifth stage of the Global Champions Tour in São Paulo. Eric Lamaze
Eric Lamaze (born April 17, 1968) is a Canadian showjumper and Olympic champion. He won individual gold and team silver at the 2008 Beijing Olympics, riding Hickstead. Lamaze has won three Olympic medals, as well as four Pan American Games medals and one World Equestrian Games bronze. He is considered one of Canada's best showjumpers. He is currently banned from participating in equestrian activities until 2027. Early life Lamaze was born in Montreal, Quebec. He started riding at age twelve and worked in exchange for time in the saddle. Yann Candele (born March 11, 1971) is a Canadian equestrian who competes in the sport of show jumping. He won the 2009 and 2010 Nations' Cups in Wellington, Florida. The International Federation for Equestrian Sports (, FEI) is the international sport governing body, governing body of equestrianism, equestrian sports.
