Equestrian At The 2015 Pan American Games – Team Eventing
The team eventing competition of the equestrian events at the 2015 Pan American Games took place July 17–19 at the Caledon Equestrian Park. The cross-country portion of eventing took place at nearby Will O' Wind Farm (Pan Am Cross-Country Centre), which is located in Mono. Team eventing consisted of three phases: dressage, cross-country, and show-jumping. Scores from each phase were converted into penalty points, which were summed to give a score. Teams of up to five horse and rider pairs competed; for each team, the best three scores in each phase counted towards the team score. In the dressage portion, the pair performed in front of three judges. The judges gave marks of between 0 and 10 for each of ten required elements; the scores for the judges were averaged to give a score between 0 and 100. Caledon Equestrian Park
The Caledon Equestrian Park is a current Equestrianism, equestrian facility in Caledon, Ontario, Canada and was used for the 2015 Pan American Games. The facility's renovations were completed in 2014, one year before the games start. The stadium is planned to have 4,000 seats. The venue was officially named the equestrian venue for the 2015 Pan American Games on May 19, 2012. The renovations brings many changes to the facility including a new stadium, permanent and temporary seating for the games, a new grand prix arena, training facilities, an indoor training facility among others. During the games every portion of the equestrian event besides the cross-country portion of the eventing competition will be held at the venue. The International Federation for Equestrian Sports (, FEI) is the international sport governing body, governing body of equestrianism, equestrian sports. The FEI came into being following the Olympic Congress in Lausanne (SUI) in 1921 from May 28 to May 30. It's headquarters are in Lausanne, Switzerland. Show jumping is a part of a group of English riding equestrian events that also includes eventing, hunters, and equitation. Cross-country Equestrianism
Cross country equestrian jumping forms one of the three phases of the sport of eventing; it may also be a competition in its own right, known as hunter trials or simply "cross-country", although these tend to be lower-level, local competitions. The object of cross-country is to prove the speed, endurance and jumping ability of the true cross-country horse when he is well trained and brought to the peak of condition. At the same time, it demonstrates the rider's knowledge of pace and the use of this horse across country.
