Epitácio Délio Pais (1924–2009) was an Indian short story writer and novelist who wrote in Portuguese. Early life and career Born to a ''bhatkar'', or landowning family, Pais was a primary school teacher by profession. He attended ''liceu'', or high school, in Portuguese before undergoing his teacher training. He contributed short stories in Portuguese to newspapers such as ''Diário de Goa'' and ''O Heraldo'' from the 1950s to the 1980s. He also participated in the Portuguese-language programme ''Renascença'', which ran on All-India Radio until the 1980s. For José Pereira, Pais was "one of Goa’s prominent writers of fiction in Portuguese". For Manuel de Seabra and Vimala Devi, Pais was a writer who felt the world around him in all his poetry and tragedy and whose writing was reminiscent of Russian writers like Turgenev and Korolenko. Epitácio Lindolfo da Silva Pessoa (; 23 May 1865 – 13 February 1942) was a Brazilian politician and jurist who served as the 11th president of Brazil between 1919 and 1922, when Rodrigues Alves was unable to take office due to illness, after being elected in 1918. His period of government was marked by military revolts that would culminate in the Revolution of 1930, which brought Getúlio Vargas into control of the federal government. In addition to his term as president, Pessoa served as Minister of Justice, a justice in the Supreme Federal Tribunal, Attorney General, a two-term Federal Deputy, a three-term Senator, Chief of the Brazilian delegation for the Treaty of Versailles, and a judge on the Permanent Court of International Justice. Epitacio Huerta is a municipality in the Mexican state of Michoacán. It is located approximately northeast of the state capital of Morelia. It is named after General , who fought in the Mexican–American War and under Juan Álvarez in the Revolution of Ayutla, and served as governor of Michoacán from 1858 to 1862. Geography The municipality of Epitacio Huerta is located in the Trans-Mexican Volcanic Belt in northeast Michoacán at an altitude between . It borders the Queretan municipalities of Huimilpan to the north and Amealco de Bonfil to the northeast, the Michoacanese municipalities of Contepec to the southeast and Maravatío to the southwest, and the Guanajuatean municipalities of Jerécuaro to the southwest and Coroneo to the northwest.
