The England men's national netball team, nicknamed the England Thorns, represents the England Men's and Mixed Netball Association in international men's netball competitions. History The Thorns were first formed in March 2022. They helped the with the Roses preparation for the 2022 Commonwealth Games, joining them in their pre games training camp for a series of matches. Tournament history Australia England series On 30 October 2022, England played their debut international test against Australia Men where they were defeated 73–27. The match was played before the second test of the 2022 Australia England women's series and was televised. A three test series was announced to commence in May 2025 named the Aurora Series. On the club, national and international level, men's netball teams exist, but attract less attention than women's netball. Mixed teams are not uncommon in Australia and are very popular. Men's national teams do exist in Antigua & Barbuda, Australia, Brunei, Canada, England, Fiji, Hong Kong, India, the Isle of Man, Jamaica, Kenya, Malaysia, New Zealand, Pakistan, Papua New Guinea, Singapore, Grenada, St. Vincent & the Grenadines, South Africa, Uganda, the United Arab Emirates, United States, and Zambia. In 1997, in England male participation comprised 0.7% of the total netball playing population within schools. Vitality Roses
The England national netball team, also known as the Vitality Roses, represent England Netball in international netball tournaments such as the Netball World Cup, the Commonwealth Games, the Netball Quad Series, the Taini Jamison Trophy, the Fast5 Netball World Series and the European Netball Championship. They have also competed at the World Games. England made their Test debut in 1949. Their best result in a major tournament is a gold medal in the 2018 Commonwealth Games. Australia Men's National Netball Team
The Australia men's national netball team represents the Australian Men's and Mixed Netball Association in international men's netball competitions, including the Trans-Tasman Cup, played against New Zealand, and the Men's Fast5 Netball World Series. During the 2020s, Trans-Tasman Cup matches have acted as curtain raisers for Constellation Cup matches, while the Men's Fast5 Netball World Series' have been played alongside the women's series.
