Embassy Of Serbia, Vienna
The Embassy of Serbia in Vienna (german: Botschaft der Republik Serbien in der Republik Österreich, sr, Амбасада Републике Србије у Републици Аустрији) is Serbia's diplomatic mission to Austria. It is located at Ölzeltgasse 3, in Vienna, Austria. The current Serbian ambassador to Austria is Nebojša Rodić. Consulates Serbia also maintains the Consulate General in Salzburg, currently under the Consul General Zoran Jeremić. There also Permanent Mission to the Organization for Security and Co-operation in Europe and United Nations under Chargé d'Affaires Miroslava Beham in Vienna. Serbia closed the Consulate General in Graz which was inherited from Yugoslavia. History Embassy of Serbia in Vienna used to be situated in the historic Palais Hoyos until 2011 when the building was handed over to Croatia as part of Yugoslav succession. Diplomatic Missions Of Serbia
This is a list of diplomatic missions of Serbia, excluding honorary consulates. Serbia has a significant number of diplomatic missions abroad, representing its growing ties with the West along with Yugoslavia's historical ties with Eastern Europe and the Non-Aligned Movement. Serbia inherited about a third of the diplomatic facilities that belonged to the former Yugoslavia. After 2001 embassies in Chile, Colombia, Congo-Kinshasa, Ghana, Guinea, Lebanon, Mongolia, North Korea, Pakistan, Thailand, Venezuela, Vietnam, and Zimbabwe were closed due to financial or reciprocal reasons. Foreign relations of Serbia are accomplished by efforts of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Serbia has inherited the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, along with all of its holdings, after the dissolution of the previous state union with Montenegro. Rococo (, also ), less commonly Roccoco or Late Baroque, is an exceptionally ornamental and theatrical style of architecture, art and decoration which combines asymmetry, scrolling curves, gilding, white and pastel colours, sculpted moulding, and '' trompe-l'œil'' frescoes to create surprise and the illusion of motion and drama. Otto Wagner
Otto Koloman Wagner (; 13 July 1841 – 11 April 1918) was an Austrian architect, furniture designer and urban planner. He was a leading member of the Vienna Secession movement of architecture, founded in 1897, and the broader Art Nouveau movement. Many of his works are found in his native city of Vienna, and illustrate the rapid evolution of architecture during the period. His early works were inspired by classical architecture. By mid-1890s, he had already designed several buildings in what became known as the Vienna Secession style. Beginning in 1898, with his designs of Vienna Metro stations, his style became floral and Art Nouveau, with decoration by Koloman Moser. His later works, 1906 until his death in 1918, had geometric forms and minimal ornament, clearly expressing their function. They are considered predecessors to modern architecture. Palais Hoyos (Rennweg)
Palais Hoyos is an Art Nouveau building in the Landstraße district of Vienna, Austria. History The palace was built, together with two other buildings, by Otto Wagner at the end of the 19th century. The style of the Historicism was pursued during the realisation of the palace and the facade is Rococo and Vienna Secession (Art Nouveau). Wagner kept the building in the middle, Rennweg 3 (Palais Hoyos), for himself, while Gustav Mahler lived in the adjacent building, Rennweg 5, from 1898 to 1909. The site once housed the Trinity hospital and the barracks of the ''k. k. adelig-polnischen Leibgarde'' military unit, which were called the ''Arcièren-Leibgarde'' later on. In 1903, the palace was bought by the widowed countess Marie Hoyos. The Hoyos family owned another palace in the Ringstraße, which is nowadays known as ''Hotel Bristol''. Nebojša Rodić
Nebojša Rodić (, born 1953) is a Serbian politician, lawyer and diplomat who currently serves as the Ambassador of Serbia to Austria. He served as the Minister of Defence of Serbia from 2 September 2013 to 27 April 2014 and as the Director of the Security Intelligence Agency from 3 August 2012 to 3 September 2013. He is a member of the Serbian Progressive Party. Biography He graduated from the University of Belgrade, Faculty of Law in 1977, while he passed the bar exam in 1979.
