Electrolux AB () is a Swedish Multinational corporation, multinational home appliance manufacturer, headquartered in Stockholm. It is consistently ranked the world's second largest appliance maker by units sold, after Whirlpool Corporation, Whirlpool. AEG (German Company)
; AEG) was a German producer of electrical equipment. It was established in 1883 by Emil Rathenau as the ''Deutsche Edison-Gesellschaft für angewandte Elektricität'' in Berlin. The company's initial focus was driven by electrical lighting, as in 1881, Rathenau had acquired the rights to the electric light bulb at the International Exposition of Electricity in Paris. Using small power stations, his company introduced electrical lighting to cafés, restaurants, and theaters, despite the high costs and limitations. By the end of the 19th century, AEG had constructed 248 power stations, providing a total of 210,000 hp of electricity for lighting, tramways, and household devices. Zanussi () is an Italian producer of home appliances that was bought by Electrolux in 1984. Zanussi has been exporting products from Italy since 1946. History The Zanussi Company began as the small workshop of Antonio Zanussi in 1916. The 26-year-old son of a blacksmith in Pordenone in Northeastern Italy began the business by making home stoves and wood-burning ovens. In 1933 Antonio Zanussi launched REX, the company's newest trademark at that time, to coincide with a huge media event of the day: the new record for a transatlantic crossing (Gibraltar to New York) with which the Italian liner “Rex” conquered the Blue Riband. Carlo Vivarelli
Carlo Vivarelli (1919–1986) was a Swiss artist and graphic designer associated with the International Typographic Style. Vivarelli was born on 8 March 1919 in Zürich, Switzerland. Vivarelli began his design education studying in 1934 at the Kunstgewerbeschule Zürich. During this period, he also worked as an apprentice. Following his early studies, Vivarelli moved to Paris, where he studied under French poster artist Paul Colin. In 1946, Vivarelli moved to Milan, where he worked as an art director at graphic design firm, Studio Boggeri. The following year, he returned to Zürich and opened his own firm. Vivarelli's studio was commissioned by a number of major clients including Electrolux, Roche, and SRG SSR. In 1958 Vivarelli became a founding member of Neue Grafik, a Swiss design publication. Lurelle Van Arsdale Guild (1898–1985) was an architect, industrial designer, and interior designer. Born in Syracuse, New York, Guild studied painting at Syracuse University, graduating in 1920. He initially worked as an illustrator and writer before founding Lurelle Guild Associates in 1928.
