El Águila De Veracruz
El Águila de Veracruz (English: The Eagle of Veracruz) is a professional baseball team that plays in the Mexican League. Based in Veracruz, Veracruz, Veracruz, Mexico, they play their home games at the Estadio Universitario Beto Ávila. History Baseball was introduced to Veracruz during the early 20th century by employees of American and British oil companies. Native employees began to take an interest in the games, played by the managers of these companies, who then purchased uniforms for the new players. The uniforms they purchased were red, which had a lasting effect on future baseball teams in Veracruz. The Mexican Baseball League (, or LMB, ) is a professional baseball league in Mexico. It is the oldest running professional sports league in the country. The league has 20 teams organized in two divisions, North and South. Teams play 114 games each season. Miguel Muñoz Mozún (19 January 1922 – 16 July 1990) was a Spanish football player and manager. Copa De Zaachila
The Copa de Zaachila is presented each year by the President of the Mexican Baseball League to the team that wins the Serie del Rey. Recent trophy designs contain the design of a china cup found in the archeological zone of Zaachila, Oaxaca. History The current trophy was first awarded in 2000. The previous trophy was copper with gold paint. The original cup is a work of art in itself as well as an archaeological relic that is part of Mexican history. The relic is a small glass polychrome found in Oaxaca Zaachila. It has a dominant figure of a hummingbird. The hummingbird is linked to an earthly power represented by a Serpent (symbolism), serpent and the divine power that is represented in the turquoise blue of the original canopy. Experts speculate it could have been used for offerings, but do not rule out that it was a drinking cup.
