The cover art for the single attracted controversy due to it featuring Nick Knight (photographer), Nick Knight's highly graphic 1997 photo of a skinned monkey. The song's music video attracted additional controversy due its depiction of West burying comedian Pete Davidson alive, who was dating his ex-wife Kim Kardashian at the time. Eric Lynn Wright (September 7, 1964 – March 26, 1995), known professionally as Eazy-E, was an American rapper who propelled West Coast rap and gangsta rap by leading the group N.W.A and its label, Ruthless Records. Eazy-E is often referred to as the "Godfather of Gangsta Rap". Born in Compton, California, Wright had several legal troubles before founding Ruthless in 1987.
