Eagle's Claw (Lightwater Valley)
Eagle's Claw is a yellow, brown and black KMG Afterburner amusement ride situated in Lightwater Valley, in Ripon, North Yorkshire, England. It is a thrill ride with a height restriction of 1.22 metres, and a capacity of 24 riders. The ''Keighley News The ''Keighley News'' is a weekly newspaper based in Keighley, West Yorkshire, England. Closing The Eagle's Claw was closed during July 2017, following a fatal accident on a similar ride in the US. It reopened the following month following safety checks. The ride was confirmed to be leaving the park for the 2021 season due to a shift to the family market. KMG Afterburner
The Frisbee is a type of pendulum amusement ride featuring a circular gondola that rotates as it swings back and forth. Riders are seated on the gondola facing inward or outward, depending on the model. On some models, the entire pendulum makes a full 360 degree swing. Design and operation A pendulum is suspended between two support frames. Attached to the base of this pendulum is a circular gondola. Riders are seated in the gondola, facing either inwards or outwards. When the ride cycle starts, the gondola begins to rotate. In addition, the pendulum arm begins to swing through an arc, maxing out between 120° and 360° (full revolution). Most parks require riders to be at least tall. Lightwater Valley
Lightwater Valley Family Adventure Park is a theme park in North Stainley, North Yorkshire, England. The park was once home to Europe's longest roller coaster, The Ultimate. Lightwater Valley was founded by Robert Staveley in 1969, and is now owned and operated by The Brighton Pier Group, having been purchased by them for £5 million in 2021. The park features approximately 30 rides and attracts approximately 300,000 visitors per year. Park information History In 1969, Lightwater Valley began as a small self-pick fruit farm attraction. The farm was owned by the Staveley family, who had owned the land since 1516. In 1976, the farm was affected by drought, resulting in the excavation of a lake to help reduce the effects of future droughts. The lake's popularity instigated the transition of the farm into a tourist attraction. Early attractions included an adventure playground (later Fort William), canoes, rowing boats and a circus. Ripon () is a cathedral city in the Borough of Harrogate, North Yorkshire, England. The city is located at the confluence of two tributaries of the River Ure, the Laver and Skell. Historically part of the West Riding of Yorkshire, the city is noted for its main feature, Ripon Cathedral, which is architecturally significant, as well as the Ripon Racecourse and other features such as its market. The ''Keighley News'' is a weekly newspaper based in Keighley, West Yorkshire, England. Its circulation figure for the period from January to December 2018, according to the Audit Bureau of Circulation, was 5,419.
