ELTE Faculty Of Law
The Faculty of Law of Eötvös Loránd University was founded in 1667 and it is located in Egyetem tér in Belváros-Lipótváros, Budapest, Hungary. History The Faculty of Law was founded in 1667, 32 years later the foundation of Eötvös Loránd University. Between 1667 and 1872, law education was only at the Faculty of Law in Hungary. Since the foundation of the Babeș-Bolyai University (at that time called Franz Joseph University) in 1872, there had been more universities offering courses on law. Since the nineteenth century, there had been a high quality of law education attributed to the following educators: Gusztáv Wenzel, Jenő Balogh, Győző Concha, László Fayer, Béni Grosschmid, Sándor Plósz, Gusztáv Szászy-Schwarz, and Tamás Vécsey. János Áder
János Áder (; born 9 May 1959) is a Hungarian politician and lawyer who served as President of Hungary from 2012 to 2022. He is a long-time politician of the Right-wing politics, right-wing Fidesz. Tamás László Fellegi (born 7 January 1956) is a Hungarian politician, jurist, political scientist, businessman, who served as Minister of National Development in Viktor Orbán's government from May 29, 2010 to December 14, 2011. Péter Polt
Péter Polt (born 6 September 1955) is a Hungarian politician and lawyer who has been serving as the president of the Constitutional Court of Hungary since 2025. He was the Chief Prosecutor of Hungary from 2000 until 2006 and between 2010 and 2025. He is one of the founders of Fidesz. Kálmán Györgyi
Kálmán Györgyi (24 May 1939 – 17 February 2019) was a Hungarian jurist and academic, who served as Chief Prosecutor of Hungary from 1990 to 2000. Career He graduated from the Eötvös Loránd University in 1964. He studied at the Albert Ludwigs University of Freiburg between 1969 and 1970. László Sólyom
László Sólyom (, ; 3 January 1942 – 8 October 2023) was a Hungarian politician, lawyer, and librarian who was President of Hungary from 2005 until 2010. Previously he was the first president of the Constitutional Court of Hungary from 1990 to 1998. A prominent jurist and pro-democracy activist, Sólyom became the first president of the Constitutional Court at a time when the country was in the final years of its democratic transition after Hungarian People's Republic, decades of communist rule. János Németh (31 July 1933 – 1 March 2021) was a Hungarian jurist, lawyer, and professor. He was President of the Faculty of Law of the Eötvös Loránd University for several decades. He was chairman of the from 1990 to 1997 and was President of the Constitutional Court of Hungary from 1998 to 2003.
