E (1970s Text Editor)
E is a text editor originally developed at the Stanford AI Lab in the 1970s for the WAITS operating system. E was one of the first WYSIWYG editors. Richard Stallman visited the Stanford Artificial Intelligence Lab in 1976 and was quite impressed by this technology. Carl Mikkelsen had previously implemented a similar hack to the TECO (text editor), TECO text editor, adding a combined display+editing mode called "Control-R". E (New York City Subway Service)
The E Queens Boulevard Express/Eighth Avenue Local is a rapid transit service in the B Division (New York City Subway), B Division of the New York City Subway. Its route emblem, or "bullet", is blue since it uses the IND Eighth Avenue Line in Manhattan. The E operates 24 hours daily between Jamaica Center–Parsons/Archer (Archer Avenue Lines), Jamaica Center–Parsons Boulevard–Archer Avenue in Jamaica, Queens, and the World Trade Center (IND Eighth Avenue Line), World Trade Center in Lower Manhattan; limited rush hour service originates and terminates at Jamaica–179th Street (IND Queens Boulevard Line), 179th Street instead of Jamaica Center. Daytime service makes express stops in Queens and all stops in Manhattan; overnight service makes all stops along the full route. E service, which is one of the most heavily used services in the subway system, started in 1933 with the opening of the IND Queens Boulevard Line. Mount E
is an active stratovolcano of the Kameda peninsula, which is itself part of the larger Oshima Peninsula. It is in the rural, eastern region of Hakodate, Hokkaido, Japan. Mount E is part of Esan Prefectural Natural Park. Geology Mount E consists of non-alkali, mafic, volcanic rock. The andesitic volcano is topped with a lava dome. Eruptive history Mount E last erupted on June 8, 1874. This eruption consisted of phreatic explosions, and was rated a 1 on the VEI scale. The oldest recorded eruption started November 18, 1846. The eruption triggered lahars damaging several houses and causing fatalities. E is an unincorporated township located in Aroostook County, Maine, United States. The state of E (IPA:/ ɤ̂/), whose Middle and Old Chinese name has been reconstructed as Ngak (IPA:/ŋˤak/), was an ancient Chinese state in the area of present-day Henan and Hubei in China from around the 12th century BCE until its overthrow in 863 BCE. It was a vassal of the Shang dynasty and its ruler was one of the Three Ducal Ministers appointed by King Zhou of Shang. E was originally located in the southern part of the modern province of Henan but later moved to Hubei. Its name is now used as the provincial abbreviation for Hubei. History There are a number of different theories about the origins of E, including that its original rulers were descended from the Baiyue or the Daxi culture.
