Douglas Sherone Davis (July 2, 1944 – February 10, 2011) was a professional American football tackle for seven seasons for the Minnesota Vikings of the National Football League. He was born July 2, 1944, in Elkton, Md. and was the son of Newton and Grace Reynolds Davis. He was married to Roberta and had a son Brian Davis. His siblings include (sisters) Christine Thomas, Bertha (Lowell) Kennedy, Nancy (James) Griffith, Brothers Larry (Phyllis) Davis, Kenneth Davis, Earnst (Brenda) Davis. Doug graduated from Centerburg High School in Central Ohio in 1962 and continued his education at the University of Kentucky. He was a member of the Wildcat football team from 1962 to 1966. He was chosen by the Wigman of America to be a National High School All American All Star player which earned him the right to play in the All-Star game in Dallas, Texas. Doug Davis (infielder)
Douglas Raymond Davis (born September 24, 1962) is an American former professional baseball player. During his playing career, he appeared in seven games over two seasons as a catcher and third baseman for the Los Angeles Angels, California Angels and Texas Rangers (baseball), Texas Rangers of Major League Baseball (MLB). Career Davis attended North Carolina State University, where he played college baseball for the NC State Wolfpack baseball, Wolfpack from 1982 to 1984. He spent the 2007 and 2008 seasons as manager (baseball), manager of the Toronto Blue Jays' Triple-A affiliate, the Syracuse Chiefs of the International League and was the coach (baseball), bench coach of the Florida Marlins of MLB in 2003–04. He was the Blue Jays' Minor League Field Coordinator until 2016. He was the defensive coach for the New York Yankees AAA affiliate Scranton/Wilkes-Barre Railriders until 2020. Douglas N. Davis (born September 21, 1975) is an American former professional baseball pitcher. He played in Major League Baseball (MLB) for the Texas Rangers, Toronto Blue Jays, Milwaukee Brewers, Arizona Diamondbacks, and Chicago Cubs. Youth Davis was born in Sacramento, California, and went to Northgate High School in Walnut Creek, California, where he played football and baseball. Douglas Henry Davis (November 12, 1898 – September 3, 1934) was an early American aviator, barnstormer, air racer, flight instructor and commercial pilot. Early life Davis was born in Zebulon, Georgia, the son of Jonathan A. and Etta (née Ogletree) Davis. He was raised on a farm and attended Griffin High School. World War I When the United States entered World War I in 1917, Davis left school in his senior year without obtaining his diploma and enlisted in the United States Army Air Service. He graduated at the top of his class and was commissioned a second lieutenant. To his disappointment, Davis was made an instructor, flying a Curtiss JN-4D "Jenny" trainer rather than fighting the enemy in the skies over France.
