''Don't Just Stand There!'' is a 1968 American comedy film directed by Ron Winston and written by Charles Williams. It is based on the 1966 novel ''The Wrong Venus'' by Charles Williams. The film stars Robert Wagner, Mary Tyler Moore, Glynis Johns, Harvey Korman, Barbara Rhoades and Vincent Beck. The film was released on May 1, 1968, by Universal Pictures. Plot A famous author, Sabine Manning, has yet to finish her latest sex-themed novel and is on a European cruise with Merriman Dudley, her manager and lover. Her exasperated publisher Martine Randall, in an exchange of favors, asks adventurer Lawrence Colby to pursue her. Colby discovers that Kendall Flanagan, mistaken for Sabine, has been kidnapped. Kendall's karate skills help her escape when Colby comes to her rescue. Colby learns that Sabine no longer wants to write about sex, so he urges her to finish the completed novel under a pseudonym. Émile Genest
Émile Genest (July 27, 1921 – March 19, 2003) was a Canadian actor. Career Born in Quebec City, Quebec, as a young man Genest served with the Royal Canadian Navy during World War II. At war's end, he worked for a time in radio in his hometown before accepting a job with CBC radio in Montreal where he would eventually become a sportscaster, working in both French and English. Genest turned to acting and in his early years played a son on the immensely popular French-language radio show, ''La famille Plouffe'' and on its follow-up television series. In 1961 he had a significant role in the first of several films for Walt Disney Pictures. The first was '' Nikki, Wild Dog of the North'' followed by 1962's '' Big Red'' and the following year he was cast in the lead of ''The Incredible Journey''. Joseph Bernard (actor)
Joseph Bernard (December 12, 1923 – April 3, 2006) was an American actor and acting teacher who appeared in 25 Broadway plays and several movies and TV appearances in the 1950s through 1970s. Bernard was born in Brooklyn, New York, and studied at New York's New School for Social Research with acting teacher Stella Adler. One of his New School classmates was Marlon Brando. Bernard was drafted into the U.S. Army and served in the D-Day invasion of France. After the war, he appeared in the play ''Winter Soldiers'' and then ''Skipper Next to God'', directed by Lee Strasberg and starring John Garfield, with whom he became friends. Garfield was Bernard's best man at his marriage to his wife, Bina, whom he wed in 1952. Bina died in 2001. Stuart Margolin (January 31, 1940 – December 12, 2022) was an American film, theater, and television actor and director who won two Emmy Awards for playing Evelyn "Angel" Martin on the 1970s television series ''The Rockford Files''. In 1973, he played in ''Gunsmoke'' as an outlaw. The next year he played an important role, giving Charles Bronson his first gun in ''Death Wish''.
