Abdur Rahman (actor)
Abdur Rahman (known as Rahman; 27 February 1937 – 18 July 2005) was a Pakistani-Bangladeshi actor and film Director. He acted in Bengali, Urdu, and Pashto films in Dhaka, Karachi, and Lahore from 1958 until the 1980s. Career Rahman made his debut in Ehtesham's 1959 Bengali film ''Ei Desh Tomar Amar'', as a supporting actor in a negative role. He then acted as the lead actor in ''Rajdhanir Buke'', along with Chitra Sinha, also directed by Ehtesham. He then performed in '' Harano Din'' (1960), '' Joar Bhata'' (1965), ''Notun Sur'', ''Eai To Jiban'', and ''Antaranga'', along with ''Shabnam'' and ''Suchanda''. Jharna Basak (born 17 August 1946), known by her stage name Shabnam, is a Bangladeshi–Pakistani stage and film actress. Actor Waheed Murad introduced her to the Pakistani film industry by offering her a lead role in his film '' Samundar'' in 1968. Shabnam remained active in Lollywood in the 1960s, 1970s, and 1980s. She has been nominated for Nigar awards several times, winning it 13 times (the most for an actress). She has appeared in over 150 films films. Bashir Ahmad (singer)
Bashir Ahmed (11 November 1939 – 19 April 2014) was a Bangladeshi playback singer who started his career from Pakistan film industry. Born in Kolkata, West Bengal, he migrated to Dhaka, East Bengal after the Partition period in 1960 and started his singing career. He is known as ''East Pakistan's Ahmed Rushdi'' because his singing style is inspired by Ahmed Rushdi. He was awarded Ekushey Padak in 2005 by the Government of Bangladesh and Bangladesh National Film Award for Best Male Playback Singer for his performance in the film ''Kokhono Megh Kokhono Bristi'' (2003). East Pakistan was a Pakistani province established in 1955 by the One Unit Policy, renaming the province as such from East Bengal, which, in modern times, is split between India and Bangladesh.
