Dwars Door West–Vlaanderen
Dwars door West-Vlaanderen is a road bicycle race through the Belgian province of West Flanders. History The race was originally created unter the name Omloop der Vlaamse Ardennen (''English'': Tour of the Flemish Ardennes) in 1945 as a one-day race. It remained like that until 1999, when it became a two-day stage race and was renamed Guldensporentweedaagse. In 2003 it was extended to three days and became known as the Driedaagse van West-Vlaanderen (''English'': Three Days of West Flanders), and held on to this format until 2016. It was also known as the Johan Museeuw Classic. From 2006 to 2016 the race was organized as a 2.1 event on the UCI Europe Tour. Marcel Kint
Marcel Kint (20 September 1914 – 23 March 2002) was a Belgians, Belgian professional road bicycle racer who won 31 races between 1935 and 1951. His finest year was 1938 when he won the 1938 UCI Road World Championships – Men's road race, World Cycling Championship, three stages of the 1938 Tour de France, Tour de France and the season-long competition equivalent to today's UCI ProTour. He specialized in one-day classic cycle races and won 1943 Paris–Roubaix, Paris–Roubaix, 1949 Gent–Wevelgem, Gent–Wevelgem, Paris–Brussels. He was the only three-time consecutive winner of La Flèche Wallonne until 2016 La Flèche Wallonne, 2016 when Alejandro Valverde won his third consecutive race and fourth overall. Alcyon (cycling Team)
Alcyon was a French professional cycling team that was active from 1905 to 1959, and returned in 1961 and 1962. It was started by Alcyon, a French bicycle, automobile and motorcycle manufacturer. History The team won the Tour de France four times before World War I with François Faber in 1909, Octave Lapize in 1910, Gustave Garrigou in 1911 and Odile Defraye in 1912. Alcyon won the team prize at the Tour de France from 1909 to 1912 and then from 1927 to 1929. In 1909, Calais is de manager of the team and Alphonse Baugé sports directeur. Ludovic Feuillet takes over this position in 1910. Immediately after the First World War, Alcyon like many other bicycle companies joined a Consortium that employed many riders under the La Sportive name. Carpano was an Italian professional cycling team that existed from 1956 to 1966. The team's main sponsor between 1956 and 1964 was the Turin-based wine company Carpano, with Fausto Coppi's bicycle company Coppi a co-sponsor for the first two seasons. When Carpano took sole sponsorship of the team, the team adopted black and white striped jerseys similar to the shirts worn by Turin's Juventus Football Club. For the final two years, 1965 and 1966, Italian food producer Sanson took over the sponsorship. Whilst with Carpano, Franco Balmamion won the general classification of the Giro d'Italia in 1962 and 1963.
