Dušan Petković (footballer, Born 1974)
Dušan Petković (; born 13 June 1974) is a Serbian retired footballer who played as a defender. Club career After starting out in his homeland, Petković went on to play professionally in Spain (Mallorca), Japan ( Yokohama Marinos), Germany ( VfL Wolfsburg and 1. FC Nürnberg), and Russia ( Spartak Moscow and Saturn Ramenskoye). International career In 1991, Petković was capped for Yugoslavia at under-18 level. Between 2000 and 2004, Petković was capped seven times for Serbia and Montenegro (previously known as FR Yugoslavia). He was additionally called up to Serbia and Montenegro's 2006 FIFA World Cup squad by manager Ilija Petković, as a replacement for the injured Mirko Vučinić, but withdrew from the roster following media criticism of the fact that it was his father who selected him. Mirko Vučinić
Mirko Vučinić (, ; born 1 October 1983) is a Montenegrin former professional footballer who played as a forward. Quick, versatile, and physically strong, Vučinić was known for his creativity, technique, and intelligence as a footballer, as well as his powerful striking ability from distance. In 2018, he began a golf career as a member of the Princess Milica Golf Club based in Tivat. Having caught the attention of Pantaleo Corvino, the sporting director of the Italian club Lecce, he transferred there in the summer of 2000. He played for Lecce as they moved between Serie A and B. His highest-scoring season was 2004–05, with 19 goals in 28 games in Serie A. The 1999–2000 First League of FR Yugoslavia was the eighth season of the FR Yugoslavia's top-level football league since its establishment. It was contested by 21 teams, and Red Star Belgrade won the championship. Incidents The season was marred by a tragic event on 30 October 1999, during the Partizan vs. Red Star tie (113th edition of the Večiti derbi) when seventeen-year-old Red Star fan Aleksandar "Aca" Radović from Opovo was killed by a signalling rocket fired from within the stadium. Radović, a third-year student at the First Belgrade Gymnasium, was supporting his team from the Partizan Stadium's north end when in 20th minute of the match he got hit in the chest by a flare gun-fired signaling rocket from the opposite end of the stadium, which is where Partizan fans were located. The 1996–97 First League of FR Yugoslavia was the fifth season of the FR Yugoslavia's top-level football league since its establishment. Overview For the fourth season in a raw that the league was divided in 2 groups, A and B, consisting each of 10 clubs. Both groups were played in league system. By winter break all clubs in each group meet each other twice, home and away, with the bottom four classified from A group moving to the group B, and being replaced by the top four from the B group. At the end of the season the same situation happened with four teams being replaced from A and B groups, adding the fact that the bottom three clubs from the B group were relegated into the Second League of FR Yugoslavia for the next season and replaced by the top three from that league. 1991–92 Yugoslav First League
The First League of Yugoslavia's 1991/1992 season was the 64th edition of the Yugoslav First League, the premier football club competition of SFR Yugoslavia. It was the last edition in which professional football teams from SR Bosnia and Herzegovina (with one exception) and SR Macedonia participated, as well as the last of the SFR Yugoslavia in general as the First League of FR Yugoslavia was established the following season. Red Star Belgrade won the competition. Before the start of the season, Croatia and Slovenia were already in the process of seeking independence from Yugoslavia. Teams from Croatia and Slovenia that qualified for the competition left it before the season started. Dinamo Zagreb, Hajduk Split, NK Osijek, NK Rijeka and (newly promoted) NK Zagreb left to join newly created Croatian championship, while Olimpija Ljubljana left to join newly created Slovenian championship.
