Durai (film)
''Durai'' is a 2008 Indian Tamil-language action film directed by A. Venkatesh, from a story by Arjun, and produced by P. L. Thenappan. It stars Arjun, alongside Kirat Bhattal, Gajala, Suma Guha, Vivek and Vincent Asokan. The music was composed by D. Imman, while cinematography and editing were handled by V. Lekshmipathy and V. Krishnakumar Plot Raja, who does not remember his past and is haunted by vague memories, works with a cook for ''Arusuvai'' Ambi. A sequence of events leads Raja to recollect his real identity as Durai and sets out to avenge his family's death and find the truth behind the death of his mentor Deivanayakam, an honest politician. Durai Sundar is an Indian computational biologist, bioinformatician and the current Head of the Department of Biochemical Engineering and Biotechnology at the Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi. He is known for his studies in the fields of genome editing tool designing, biological studies of natural drugs and metabolic engineering as well as for his participation in the Indo-Japanese collaborative research initiatives on anti-cancer drug development and is a life member of the National Academy of Sciences, India. The Department of Biotechnology of the Government of India awarded him the National Bioscience Award for Career Development, one of the highest Indian science awards, for his contributions to biosciences, in 2012. Durai Murugan (born 1 July 1938) is an Indian politician and lawyer. He is the Minister for Water Resources under the government of M. K. Stalin since 2021. He is the general secretary of the DMK since 9 September 2020. He graduated in MA and BL and is an advocate by profession. He is a very close confidant to former DMK Supremo M. Karunanidhi and his son DMK President M. K. Stalin. He also worked as Treasurer, Principal Secretary and Deputy General secretary of the DMK party. Durai Murugan was first elected to the Tamil Nadu legislative assembly in 1971 and has been elected ten times since. He was elected from the Katpadi constituency in 2006. Durai Vaiko (born 2 April 1972) is an Indian politician of the Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam party (MDMK). He was appointed as the MDMK principal secretary of the party, and leads internet campaigns for MDMK. His political career began when his father contested the Lok Sabha election from Virudhunagar constituency in 2014. J.F.C. Durai (25 February 1940 – 22 April 2024) was an Indian film director who was mostly active during the 1970s. As of 2014, he had directed 46 films in Tamil cinema, Tamil, Telugu cinema, Telugu, Kannada cinema, Kannada, Malayalam cinema, Malayalam and Hindi cinema, Hindi. Though known for his work in commercial cinema, he made women-centric films like ''Avalum Penthaane'' and ''Pasi (film), Pasi'', which won two National Film Award (India), National Film Awards. He served as a jury member of the 58th National Film Awards (India) in 2011. As of 2011, he was the vice president of the South Indian Film Writers' Association. D. Ramasamy was an Indian politician and Member of the Legislative Assembly of Tamil Nadu. Political career Ramasamy joined Congress under K. Kamaraj.
