Deliver Us From Evil (Budgie Album)
The Lord's Prayer, also known by its incipit Our Father (, ), is a central Christian prayer attributed to Jesus. It contains petitions to God focused on God’s holiness, Will of God, will, and Kingship and kingdom of God, kingdom, as well as human needs, with variations across manuscripts and Christian traditions. Two versions of this prayer are recorded in the gospels: a longer form within the Sermon on the Mount in the Gospel of Matthew, and a shorter form in the Gospel of Luke when "one of his disciples said to him, 'Lord, teach us to pray, as John the Baptist, John taught his disciples. Scholars generally agree that the differences between the Matthaean and Lucan versions of the Lord’s Prayer reflect independent developments from a common source. The Single Factor
''The Single Factor'', released in 1982, is the ninth studio album by English progressive rock band Camel. The album was essentially a contractual obligation album, created under pressure from Decca Records to produce a hit single, and the "made-to-order" nature of its composition resulted in a selection of songs described as "odd" on the band's official website. Unlike previous Camel albums, ''The Single Factor'' consists exclusively of shorter compositions around 3 to 5 minutes in length. Guitarist Andrew Latimer was the only original member remaining, although original keyboardist Peter Bardens returned for a guest appearance on 'Sasquatch'. According to the liner notes, original drummer Andy Ward, who had appeared in all previous Camel albums, was now absent "following a serious injury to his hand". In reality the injury was self-inflicted, and years later it was revealed that he was forced to retire due to mental health problems. The album was reissued on 8 September 2009 ... Look Hear?
''Look Hear?'' is the seventh studio album by 10cc, released in 1980. Overview The album was recorded after a long break the band had to take due to Eric Stewart's car accident in January 1979 that left him with blindness in one eye and temporary hearing loss in one ear. Like previous albums, it was recorded at the band's Strawberry Studios South in Dorking, Surrey. At the time of the recording Graham Gouldman was going through a divorce, which was reflected in the songs that he wrote for the album: "How'm I Ever Gonna Say Goodbye" and "I Hate to Eat Alone". These two songs had little to no contribution from Eric Stewart in the studio, only percussion on "I Hate to Eat Alone" and nothing at all on "How'm I Ever Gonna Say Goodbye". Like the previous 10cc album, '' Bloody Tourists'', ''Look Hear?'' featured songwriting contributions from other members of the band and the album was the first by 10cc since the departure of Godley and Creme to include songs written by neither Gr ... I Robot (album)
''I Robot'' is the second studio album by British Rock music, rock band the Alan Parsons Project, released on 8 July 1977 by Arista Records. The album draws conceptually on author Isaac Asimov's science fiction Robot series, ''Robot'' stories, exploring philosophical themes regarding artificial intelligence. Background and concept The album was intended to be based on the ''I, Robot'' stories written by Asimov, and Eric Woolfson spoke with Asimov himself, who was enthusiastic about the idea. As the rights already had been granted to a TV/movie company, the album's title was altered slightly by removing the comma in "I," and the theme and lyrics were made to be more generically about robots rather than to be specific to the Asimov universe. The cover inlay reads: "I Robot... The story of the rise of the machine and the decline of human, man, which paradoxically coincided with his discovery of the wheel... and a warning that his brief dominance of Earth, this planet will probab ... Timeless Flight
''Timeless Flight'' is the fourth studio album by Steve Harley & Cockney Rebel, released by EMI on 30 January 1976. It was written and produced by Steve Harley. Background Harley began writing material for ''Timeless Flight'' while Steve Harley & Cockney Rebel were touring to promote their 1975 album ''The Best Years of Our Lives''. The band recorded ''Timeless Flight'' during the summer of 1975 at Trident Studios, Abbey Road Studios and Scorpio Sound Studio. The album was created in a more relaxed environment in comparison with ''The Best Years of Our Lives'', which had been recorded quickly under considerable pressure. In 2003, Harley recalled, "It was a sweltering summer. It was incredibly hot. The songs, many of them being semi acoustic or laid back, I think stemmed as much from that as anything else. It made me a little lethargic." In a 1976 interview with '' Record Mirror & Disc'', Harley revealed, " he albumtook about three months altogether and so much hard work went into ... The Best Years Of Our Lives (Steve Harley & Cockney Rebel Album)
''The Best Years of Our Lives'' is the third studio album by Steve Harley & Cockney Rebel, released by EMI on 7 March 1975. It was the first album to feature Harley's name ahead of the band's (the band was previously known as Cockney Rebel). The album was produced by Harley and Alan Parsons, and contains the band's only UK number one, the million-selling "Make Me Smile (Come Up and See Me)". Background In July 1974, the original Cockney Rebel split at the end of a major British tour which promoted their second album '' The Psychomodo''. Jean-Paul Crocker, Milton Reame-James and Paul Jeffreys quit the band after Harley refused to comply with their demands to write material for the group, despite the initial understanding that Cockney Rebel was a vehicle for Harley's songs. Unfazed by the split, Harley announced to ''Record Mirror'' that he was going to return with "the greatest rock 'n' roll band ever heard". In 2014, he recalled, "The people at EMI were right behind me. They belie ... [...More Info...]       [...Related Items...]     OR:     [Wikipedia]   [Google]   [Baidu]   |
