Broadford GAA
Broadford is a Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) club in County Kildare, Ireland, winners of two senior hurling and 16 senior camogie titles. It enlists players from a radius of twenty miles from the Boyne bridge in Edenderry, Leinster bridge in Clonard, Blackwater bridge in Enfield and Barney Bridge in Allenwood. Mick Moore was selected at full-forward on the Kildare hurling team of the millennium. History Balyna (described in 1908 as the only purely hurling club in the county) and Moyvalley were affiliated in 1907. Garriskar also competed in the 1910s and Johnstownbridge in the 1920s and 1930s. Broadford affiliated in 1923 but had been in existence for three years beforehand, winning a gold medal tournament in Meath with seven Bourkes on the team. Gaelic Athletic Association
The Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA; ; CLG) is an Irish international amateur sports, amateur sporting and cultural organisation, focused primarily on promoting indigenous Gaelic games and pastimes, which include the traditional Irish sports of hurling, camogie, Gaelic football, Gaelic handball, and GAA rounders. Clogherinkoe GAA
Clogherinkoe GFC is a Gaelic football club in County Kildare, Ireland, the first junior C champions to qualify for the Jack Higgins Cup final. They formed an area team with Johnstownbridge, St John's, which reached the semi-final of the senior football championship in 1978. Padraig Gravin was corner-forward on the 1998 Kildare All Ireland final team. Pat Tyrrell was a noted Kildare forward in the 1960s. John Lowry and John Donoghue were major players for the team throughout the 80's and 90's. Both played on the Kildare senior team for several seasons. Eoghan Corry (; born 19 January 1961) is an Irish journalist and author. He has edited travel sections in national newspapers and travel publications since the 1980s. A former sportswriter and sports editor he has written books on sports history, and was founding story-editor of the Gaelic Athletic Association Museum at Croke Park, Dublin, Ireland. Kildare Senior Camogie Championship
Camogie was played in Kildare shortly after the sport was first organized in 1904. However, due to sparse records it is not certain when the first senior camogie championship was held. The earliest record of Camogie appears in an advertisement by Athy Ladies Hurling Club advertised a members reunion in July 1909. The Kildare Senior Hurling Championship (known for sponsorship reasons as the UPMC Kildare Senior Hurling Championship and abbreviated to the Kildare SHC) is an annual club hurling competition organised by the Kildare GAA, Kildare County Board of the Gaelic Athletic Association and contested by the top-ranking senior clubs in the County Kildare, county of Kildare in Ireland, deciding the competition winners through a group and knockout format. It is the most prestigious competition in Kildare hurling. Carbury GAA
Carbury GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) club in County Kildare, Ireland, winner of 11 Kildare county senior football championships and participants in eight successive county finals between 1965 and 1972. Johnstownbridge GAA
Johnstownbridge GAA is a Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA) club in the village of Johnstownbridge, County Kildare, Ireland, Winner of eleven senior county championships across football and camogie and Kildare club of the year in 1983. Gaelic Football Johnstownbridge fields two teams at senior level and have approximately 50 players over 17 years of age. Underage teams are fielded as the parish of Balyna shared with Clogherinkoe Gaa. Paul Cribbin and Daniel Flynn are currently part of the Kildare Senior squad for 2022. The Kildare County Board of the Gaelic Athletic Association (GAA), or Kildare GAA, is one of 12 county boards governed by the Leinster provincial council of the GAA in Ireland, and is responsible for the administration of Gaelic games in County Kildare. The County Board is responsible for preparing the Kildare county teams in the various Gaelic sporting codes; football, hurling and camogie. The county football team won the All-Ireland Senior Football Championship (SFC) on four occasions in less than 25 years at the beginning of the 20th century and had accumulated ten Leinster Senior Football Championships by 1935; however, it then went into decline.
