Dr. Mehta's Hospitals is a privately owned multispecialty and tertiary care facility in India with campuses in Chetpet and Velappanchavadi. History The hospital was first opened in 1933 by Dr. Anantrai Jayantilal Mehta, also known as A.J. Mehta as a small clinic-nursing home. In 1955, the facility moved to Chetpet, evolving into a multispecialty surgical and birthing unit with one delivery room and two convalescence rooms. In 1977, their daughter, Dr. Usha Shukla, a graduate from the University of Mysore joined the practice. In the 1990s, their son, Mr. Dilip Mehta, a graduate of Loyola College took over administration, leading its transition into a tertiary care institution.
