Dorian Peña
Dorian Alan Peña (born October 12, 1977) is a Filipino-American former professional basketball player. He is nicknamed the "Junkyard Dawg" for his consistent plays of putbacks and offensive rebounds. He previously played for the Negros Slashers and the Pasig Pirates, Pasig-Rizal Pirates in the defunct Metropolitan Basketball Association before being recruited by the Beermen. A Mythical Five member in the 2004–05 season, the 6-6 slotman was relegated to the Second Team the following year. He was one of the only three locals to average in double-double during a season, the other two being Eric Menk and Asi Taulava, both former Most Valuable Player winners. Peña averaged a career-best 13.2 points and 11.5 boards per game in the 2005–06 season and has been consistent since then. Cheverly, Maryland
Cheverly is a town in Prince George's County, Maryland, United States, located very close to Washington, D.C., though not bordering it directly. The town was founded in 1918 and incorporated in 1931. The 2009 PBA All-Star Week was the annual all-star weekend of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA)'s 2008–09 PBA season. This year's all-star game was totally different from the past All-Star games, as this year's event had 3 all-star games in different cities: Victorias, Negros Occidental (April 22), Panabo, Davao del Norte (April 24), and Quezon City (April 26). 2016-17 PBA Season
16-17 is a band from Basel, Switzerland. Their music combines punk rock, hardcore punk, jazz and Industrial music, industrial music. Biography 16-17 was founded in 1983 by Alex Buess, Knut Remond and Markus Kneubühler. When the group played its first concerts in 1983 it was received with controversial reactions: there were hardly any groups that played in an approximately similar style. Only some years later around 1986 groups like Painkiller (band), Painkiller, Last Exit (free jazz band), Last Exit or The Flying Luttenbachers appeared . Rabeh Ahmed T. Al-Hussaini (born August 11, 1988) is a Filipino professional basketball player for the Basilan Viva Portmasters of the Maharlika Pilipinas Basketball League. A power forward (basketball), power forward/center (basketball), center, he played five seasons for the Ateneo de Manila University, Ateneo de Manila Ateneo Blue Eagles, Blue Eagles in the University Athletic Association of the Philippines from UAAP Season 68, 2005 to UAAP Season 72, 2009 and led the Eagles to back-to-back basketball championships in his last two seasons with them. Rey Guevarra
Rey Francis J. Guevarra (born November 24, 1986) is a Filipino former professional basketball player in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA). Guevarra was selected by the Air21 Express third overall in the 2010 PBA draft. He is known for his great athleticism, and is one of the most athletic players in the PBA today, evidenced by him winning the PBA Slam Dunk Contest for three consecutive years, from 2014 (with Justin Melton) to 2016, then again from 2018–2019. Siverino A. "Nonoy" Baclao Jr. (born June 15, 1987) is a Filipino professional basketball player who last played for the San Miguel Beermen of the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA). A forward who can also play center, he played three seasons for the Ateneo de Manila Blue Eagles in the University Athletic Association of the Philippines from 2007 to 2009 and led the Eagles to back-to-back basketball championships in his last two seasons with them. Daniel Charles Yadao Seigle (born June 14, 1976) is a Filipino-American basketball coach and former professional basketball player. He is the former head of basketball operations of the De La Salle Green Archers men's basketball team and a team consultant for the San Miguel Alab Pilipinas of the ASEAN Basketball League. Paul Anthony Dy Artadi (born May 5, 1981) is a Filipino politician, basketball coach, and former professional player. On his eleven-year career in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA), he played the point guard position and was a three-time PBA All-Star. Pauliasi Taulava (born March 2, 1973) is a Tongan-born Filipino former professional basketball player in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA). Standing 6 ft 9 in (2.06 m) tall and weighing 245 pounds (111 kg), Taulava is considered by many to be one of the greatest and most dominant Filipino basketball players to ever play the center position in the PBA. Eric Conrad Padua Menk (born August 24, 1974) is a Filipino-American former professional basketball player who played in the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) and the ASEAN Basketball League. Known as Major Pain, Menk is a four-time PBA champion and was the 2004–05 PBA Most Valuable Player. Menk had played for the Barangay Ginebra franchise for twelve seasons before being waived and signed by the San Miguel Beermen of the ASEAN Basketball League. Metropolitan Basketball Association
The Metropolitan Basketball Association (MBA), also shortened as Metroball, was a professional basketball league in the Philippines that ran for five seasons from 1998 until 2002. The MBA was established to rival the Philippine Basketball Association (PBA). The MBA contained between 8 and 15 teams which represented cities and provinces who played at home and away. Initially, the league was divided into two conferences: the Northern Conference for teams based in Luzon and the Southern Conference for teams based in Visayas and Mindanao. At the end of each season, the champions of each conference faced each other at the MBA National Finals to determine the league champion. Later, the MBA allowed companies to sponsor teams and attach their brand to the teams' names—and by the final season, used a three-conference format.
