Don't Stop (Billy Idol EP)
''Don't Stop'' is the first EP by English rock singer Billy Idol, released in 1981 by Chrysalis Records. The EP contains a version of Tommy James and the Shondells' UK No. 1 hit " Mony Mony", a live version of which would later become a hit for Idol in 1987. It also contains the song " Dancing with Myself", which had previously been a commercially unsuccessful single release for Idol's former band Gen X in the UK in 1980. "Dancing With Myself" (from that band's LP ''Kiss Me Deadly'') was not re-recorded for the ''Don't Stop'' EP release but was remixed from Gen X's 6:05 minute long extended version of the song and edited down into 4:50 minutes, from which a drum solo and chorus section were removed. "Untouchables" is another Gen X song taken from the 1980 album ''Kiss Me Deadly'', which was re-recorded for ''Don't Stop.'' William Michael Albert Broad (born 30 November 1955), known professionally as Billy Idol, is an English singer, songwriter, musician, and actor. Idol achieved fame in the 1970s on the London punk rock scene as the lead singer of Generation X (band), Generation X. He later embarked on a solo career which led to international recognition and made him a lead artist during the MTV-driven "Second British Invasion" in America. Idol began his music career in 1976 as a guitarist in the punk rock band Chelsea (band), Chelsea, but left the group after a few weeks and formed Generation X with his former Chelsea bandmate Tony James (musician), Tony James. Robert Allan Ackoff (May 30, 1942 – June 30, 1983), known professionally as Bo Gentry, was an American pop singer, songwriter and record producer, most noted for his work with Tommy James and the Shondells in the 1960s. Biography Gentry was born in New York City. In the early 1960s, he worked as a songwriter and producer at Kama Sutra Records. After leaving the company following a disagreement with its owner Artie Ripp, he had successes as a songwriter working with Ritchie Cordell. Terry Chimes
Terence Chimes (born 5 July 1956, Stepney, London, England) is an English musician, best known as the original drummer of punk rock group the Clash. He played with them from July 1976 to November 1976, January 1977 to April 1977, and again from May 1982 to February 1983 both preceding and succeeding his replacement Topper Headon. Chimes also drummed for Generation X from 1980 to 1981, Hanoi Rocks in 1985, and Black Sabbath from 1987 to 1988. In 2003, he was inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of The Clash. Stephen Philip Jones (born 3 September 1955) is an English guitarist, best known as a member of the punk band Sex Pistols. Following the split of the Sex Pistols, he formed The Professionals (band), the Professionals with former bandmate Paul Cook.
