Don't Explain (DVD)
''Don’t Explain'' is the title of the second DVD by the Umbilical Brothers, the first being '' SpeedMouse''. It is a recording of the stage show of the same name and was released in November 2007. The show which was filmed at the Athenaeum Theatre in Melbourne and was nominated for the 2008 ARIA Award for Best Comedy Release. The show itself (rather than the DVD) received positive reviews in the ''Adelaide Theatre Guide'' (June 2008) and '' Time Out'' (October 2012). Plot ''Don’t Explain'' is a selection of skits that contain no overall plot; the title references this. There are, however, recurring themes throughout the show, one of which is an attempt by Dave to get the hand-held microphone off Shane; this leads to the climax in which they both have microphones. Umbilical Brothers
The Umbilical Brothers are an Australian comedy duo formed in 1988, consisting of David Collins and Shane Dundas. Their performances heavily feature physical comedy and surreal elements. Stage shows by the Umbilical Brothers include ''Heaven by Storm'' (1996), ''Thwack'' (1999), '' SpeedMouse'' (2001), '' Don't Explain'' (2007), and ''Kidshow: Not Suitable For Children'' (2015). ''SpeedMouse'' is a performance stage show by the Australian comic duo The Umbilical Brothers. The show follows the brothers as they fall under the control of a remote control that can freeze, reverse, and fast-forward their motions. The original version of ''SpeedMouse'' was aimed at an adult audience and featured repeated scenes of violence and vulgarity; the Brothers later performed a more family-friendly version with less swearing. Devised in the late 1990s, the Umbilical Brothers performed the show regularly until 2006. The duo revived the stage show in 2016 in celebration of their 25 years performing as The Umbilical Brothers. Melbourne Athenaeum
The Athenaeum or Melbourne Athenaeum at 188 Collins Street is an art and cultural hub in the central business district of Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. Founded in 1839, it is the city's oldest cultural institution.
