Dokkoida
''Dokkoida?!'', known in Japan as , is a comedic Japanese light novel series about a boy, , who is hired by a preteen space alien girl, Tanpopo, to try out an experimental new suit developed by the intergalactic toy company that she works for. Suzuo agrees to work for her since he is unemployed and needs the job to pay the rent. The suit gives him super powers, with which he fights bad guys and people from rival intergalactic toy companies and organizations. The novels were written by Taro Achi, with illustrations by Yu Yagami. The novels were adapted into a three-volume manga series with the same name, by the same authors and published by Dengeki Bunko, and an anime series, directed by Hitoyuki Matsui and Takuya Nonaka, produced by Ufotable, and aired by Mainichi Broadcasting System. Yu Yagami
is a Japanese manga artist. He is best known for the manga ''Those Who Hunt Elves'', which was adapted as an anime series. His works ''Those Who Hunt Elves'', '' Dokkoida?!'', '' Go West!'', and ''Hikkatsu! Strike a Blow to Vivify'' have been licensed in English. Yagami's works are predominantly comedy shōnen manga with science fiction or high fantasy settings—for example, ''Dokkoida?!'' is a superhero parody series and ''Go West!'' a western parody. Dengeki Comic Gao!
, also known as ''Dengeki Gao!'' was a Japanese shōnen manga magazine that primarily contained manga and information about series featuring bishōjo characters. It was published from December 1992 to February 2008 by MediaWorks. The ''Gao'' in the magazine's title is a childish form of the sound ''Grr''. Many manga serialized in ''Dengeki Comic Gao!'' were adapted from light novels published under MediaWorks' ''Dengeki Bunko'' label. The magazine was sold every month on the twenty-seventh. When ''Dengeki Comic Gao!'' was first published, many of the manga that ran in the magazine had transferred from Kadokawa Shoten's ''Comic Comp'' magazine, though many of the titles were slightly altered. CMX was an imprint of DC Comics, a division of Warner Bros. Entertainment. It was DC's line of manga translations. CMX was known for its censored release of '' Tenjho Tenge'' and the print version of Fred Gallagher's ''Megatokyo'' web manga series. Controversy One of CMX's initial launches was a title variously known as ''Tenjo Tenge'', ''Tenjho Tenge'', and ''Ten Ten''. When CMX released '' Tenjho Tenge'', many fans were livid that title had been edited contentwise and changed graphically to appeal to a "larger demographic"—in other words, edited to be acceptable to bookstores without shrinkwrap. ''Tenjho Tenge'' and CMX received a heavy amount of angry backlash for the edits.
