Doc Neeson
Bernard Patrick "Doc" Neeson OAM (4 January 1947 – 4 June 2014) was an Australian singer-songwriter and musician. He was the front man for the hard rock band The Angels from its formation in February 1976 through to 1999. The band then split up and reformed in 2008 after a lengthy legal battle where Doc resumed his place as front man. For the group, Neeson was the main singer-songwriter and was the driving force behind the band being propelled into stardom for a period spanning over three decades. Their top 20 studio albums on the Australian Kent Music Report Albums Chart are '' Face to Face'' (June 1978), '' No Exit'' (June 1979), '' Dark Room'' (June 1980), '' Night Attack'' (November 1981), '' Watch the Red'' (May 1983), '' Two Minute Warning'' (November 1984) and '' Howling'' (October 1986). ''No Exit'' is the third studio album by Australian rock band The Angels, released in June 1979. It reached No. 8 on the Australian album charts in July. One single was released from the album, "Shadow Boxer", which reached No. 25 on the charts in June. On cover notes included with the 2008 reissue, John and Rick Brewster commented on songs including "After Dark" ("One of the best songs Brewster/Neeson/Brewster have ever written and recorded"); "Save Me" ("Written in the studio using a drum loop, sped up after writing 'No Exit'"), "Shadow Boxer" ("Inspired by a guy sparring with a no standing sign in Kings Cross") and "Out of the Blue" ("One of our finest songs. ARIA Hall Of Fame
Since 1988 the Australian Recording Industry Association (ARIA) has inducted artists into its annual ARIA Hall of Fame. While most have been recognised at the annual ARIA Music Awards, in 2005 ARIA sought to create a separate standalone ceremony ARIA Icons: Hall of Fame event as only one or two acts could be inducted under the old format due to time restrictions. Since 2005 VH1 obtained the rights to broadcast the show live on Foxtel, Austar and Optus networks; and each year five or six acts were inducted into the Hall of Fame with an additional act inducted at the following ARIA Music Awards. The 12th Australian Recording Industry Association Music Awards (generally known as the ARIA Music Awards or simply The ARIAs) was held on 20 October 1998 at the Sydney Convention & Exhibition Centre. Presenters, including Democrats deputy leader Natasha Stott Despoja and former Prime Minister Gough Whitlam, distributed 29 awards with the big winner Natalie Imbruglia receiving six trophies. "Am I Ever Gonna See Your Face Again" is an Australian rock song written by Doc Neeson, John Brewster and Rick Brewster, and performed by their group, the Angels. Note: For additional information user may have to select 'Search again' and then 'Enter a title:' or 'Performer:' The song was initially recorded as a ballad in March 1976 but subsequently re-released as a rock song. The song reached number 58 on the Australian charts and stayed on the charts for nineteen weeks. A live single was released in January 1988 as the lead single from '' Live Line''.
