A dish in gastronomy is a specific food preparation, a "distinct article or variety of food", ready to eat or to be served. A dish may be served on tableware, or may be eaten in one's hands. Instructions for preparing a dish are called recipes. Some dishes, for example a hot dog with ketchup, rarely have their own recipes printed in cookbooks as they are made by simply combining two ready-to-eat foods. Naming Many dishes have specific names, such as Sauerbraten, while others have descriptive names, such as "broiled ribsteak". Dish, Texas
DISH is a town in Denton County, Texas, United States. The population of DISH was 437 at the 2020 United States Census. This community, established in June 2000, was originally named Clark. In November 2005, the community accepted an offer to rename itself "DISH" (all capital letters) as part of a commercial agreement with the satellite television company Dish Network. History The settlement was originally named for its founder, Landis Clark, who incorporated the town in June 2000 and was its first mayor. In exchange for renaming the town to DISH, all residents received a free basic television service for ten years and a free digital video recorder from Dish Network. Air quality In 2005, energy companies began drilling natural gas wells at DISH. Residents complained of foul smells and of health issues that they linked to the gas (natural gas, methane and benzene) emissions from the wells. Diffuse idiopathic skeletal hyperostosis (DISH) is a condition characterized by abnormal calcification/bone formation (hyperostosis) of the soft tissues surrounding the joints of the spine, and also of the peripheral or appendicular skeleton. In the spine, there is bone formation along the anterior longitudinal ligament and sometimes the posterior longitudinal ligament, which may lead to partial or complete fusion of adjacent vertebrae. The facet and sacroiliac joints tend to be uninvolved. The thoracic spine is the most common level involved. In the peripheral skeleton, DISH manifests as a calcific enthesopathy, with pathologic bone formation at sites where ligaments and tendons attach to bone. Kim Jung-seung (; born October 22, 1986), better known by his stage name Chancellor (), is an American singer-songwriter and record producer. Born in Seoul, his family immigrated to the United States in his youth where he lived until returning to South Korea in 2009.
