''Dexter's Final Cut'' is the seventh novel written by Jeff Lindsay, and the penultimate book in the ''Dexter'' book series about Dexter Morgan, a serial killer who primarily targets other serial killers. The book was released on September 17, 2013. Responding to the lack of alliteration on the title in comparison to the previous ones in the series, Lindsay has stated, "It's because this novel is very different than the previous, shockingly so..." Jeff Lindsay (writer)
Jeffry P. Freundlich (born July 14, 1952), primarily known by his pen name Jeff Lindsay, is an American playwright and crime novelist. He is best known for his novels about the fictional psychopathic police forensic analyst and serial killer-killing vigilante Dexter Morgan. The first book of the series was later developed into the Showtime television series of the same name with actor Michael C. Hall playing the character. Life and career Lindsay was born in Miami and graduated from Ransom Everglades School in 1970, and from Middlebury College, Vermont, in 1975. Many of his earlier published works include his wife Hilary Hemingway as a co-author. His wife is the niece of Ernest Hemingway and an author in her own right. Rita Ann Morgan (''née'' Brandon; previously Ackerman and Bennett) is a fictional character created by Jeff Lindsay for his book series about a vigilante serial killer named Dexter Morgan. She also appeared in the television series ''Dexter'', based on Lindsay's books. She was the girlfriend and later wife of Dexter in both media. Arthur Mitchell, often referred to as the "Trinity Killer," is a fictional character and the main antagonist of the fourth season of the Showtime TV series '' Dexter.'' Mitchell is a serial killer who presents himself as an unassuming church deacon, high school teacher and family man.
