Derek O'Brien (drummer)
Derek Shawn O'Brien is an American punk rock drummer and producer. He is currently the drummer for the band Ultra Bomb. Early life O'Brien started playing at Fullerton High School playing with the school Jazz Band, Marching Band and Orchestras and played in cover bands by night with guitarists Stan De Witt and Frank Agnew. He joined local punk rock band Social Distortion (1981–84). His recordings with the band include the first EP "1945", Single ("Playpen"), BYO Compilation song "(Mass Hysteria)", and first full-length album '' Mommy's Little Monster''. He featured in the documentary ''Another State Of Mind''. Career O'Brien was involved in D.I. (which featured many former members of Social Distortion and the Adolescents). He played on their 1983 EP '' D.I.'', which was later re-released as '' Team Goon'' on Triple X Records. Derek O'Brien (footballer, Born 1957)
Derek O'Brien (born 11 September 1957) is an Irish retired footballer who played as a right-back in the League of Ireland during the 1980s. O'Brien played for Bohemians, Dundalk, Shamrock Rovers, Athlone Town, Longford Town and Home Farm. He represented Ireland at youth level and made 28 league appearances for Bohs. Derek played in all four European games during his time at Oriel Park, in ties against PSV Eindhoven and Hajduk Split. He signed for Rovers in the 1981 close season where he stayed for two seasons. He is the brother of Fran O'Brien and Ray O'Brien, son of Fran O'Brien Senior, (Drumcondra F.C.) and father of Mark and Colin. Derek O'Brien (born 14 November 1979) is an Irish former footballer. Playing career O'Brien is a left winger with plenty of speed and trickery. He was an integral part of Galway United's first season back in the Premier Division in 2007. So much so that he was elected to the PFAI Premier Division Team of the Year and he was subsequently voted Galway United player of the year for 2007. He also won the Galway United Supporter's Trust (GUST) 2007 player of the year award. O'Brien was subject to interest from Derry City who are believed to have offered him an excellent deal, however he opted to commit himself to the Tribesmen for another season at least. In July 2008 he signed for St Patrick's Athletic from Galway United. He stayed at Pats for the remainder of the season before returning to Galway United in January 2009. Derek O'Brien (born 13 March 1961) is an Indian politician, television personality and quiz master. He is a Member of Parliament in the Rajya Sabha from West Bengal and member of the AITC. He is the chief national spokesperson as well as leader of the AITC Parliamentary Party in the Rajya Sabha. He has been suspended several times from Parliament. Prior to his Parliamentary career, he became well known as the quizmaster for the Bournvita Quiz Contest and other shows. Personal background O'Brien comes from an Irish family and can trace his paternal origins to an Irish soldier who came to India in the early 1860s and whose descendants married into the Bengali community.
