Created in significant changes to the public service enacted by Jeff Kennett after he was returned as Premier of Victoria at the 1996 state election, the DOI oversaw a variety of functions until its abolition in 2008. 	Department Of Infrastructure, Energy And Resources The Department of Infrastructure, Energy and Resources (DIER) was the former name of the Government of Tasmania, Tasmanian Government Department of State Growth. It reported to several ministers including Jim Cox (Australian politician), Jim Cox and Michael Aird. On 1 July 2014, the Department of Economic Development, Tourism and the Arts was amalgamated with the department and the name was changed to the Department of State Growth.
