Dennis King (; 2 November 1897 – 21 May 1971) was an English actor and singer. Early years Born on 2 November 1897 in Coventry, Warwickshire, or Birmingham, England, King was the son of John and Elizabeth King Pratt. He chose to use his mother's maiden name for his career. He had one sister and three brothers. King described his father as "a man of tremendous vision but little initiative", resulting in the family's being "very poor". His first involvement with the stage was working as a call boy at the Birmingham Repertory Theater when he was 14 years old. He first performed on stage at age 16. He served in the Oxford Bucks Infantry during World War I. Injured in battle, he spent a night in a "muddy shell hole" before stretcher-bearers took him to a first-aid station for initial treatment. Dennis Michael King (born September 24, 1952) is an American author of books on rock music posters, related memorabilia, and sports cards. He contributed to ''The Art of Rock'' by Paul Grushkin, a 1987 book on rock posters of the 1960s and 1970. Career Collectibles dealer King began collecting rock posters and other memorabilia as a teenager in the early 1960's and started selling them in 1971 at a flea market in Alameda, California and other outlets. After funding his education by dealing in collectible sports cards, comic books, poster art, and related ephemera, he graduated from UC Berkeley with a degree in Mathematics. After completing a brief period of high school teaching, he decided to pursue a full-time career in collectible memorabilia. Dennis King (born November 1, 1971) is a Canadian politician and diplomat currently serving as the Canadian ambassador to Ireland. Previously, King served as the 33rd premier of Prince Edward Island, leader of the Progressive Conservative Party of Prince Edward Island, and MLA for Brackley-Hunter River from 2019 to 2025. Denis Andrew King (born 25 July 1939) is an English composer and singer. He is best remembered as a member of a family ensemble, The King Brothers. Early career: the King Brothers King was born in Hornchurch, Essex, England. He began his musical career at the age of six as a banjolele-playing singer at children's matinees and, by the age of thirteen, with his two older brothers, Mike and Tony, was a member of one of the most successful pop groups of the 1950s and 1960s, The King Brothers — considered to be Britain’s first boy band. Denis played the piano, Mike the guitar, and Tony the double bass.
