Turkey was represented at the Eurovision Song Contest 2008 with the song "", written by Kerem Özyeğen, Burak Güven, Kerem Kabadayı, and Harun Tekin, and performed by Mor ve Ötesi. The Turkish participating broadcaster, (TRT), internally selected its entry for the contest. Turkish Radio And Television Corporation
The Turkish Radio and Television Corporation (TRT; Turkish: ) is the national public broadcasting, public broadcaster of Turkey, founded in 1964. Bülend Özveren (19 August 1941 – 18 October 2022) was a Turkish television presenter and sports commentator. Özveren completed his secondary education at (Istanbul) and higher education at Galatasaray High School. He graduated from Istanbul University, faculty of Law. Özveren started working at TRT on 31 July 1965, first as a television presenter before becoming the sports commentator in 1972. From 1973 to 2012, he intermittently served as the Turkish commentator for the Eurovision Song Contest. Özveren spoke English, Japanese, Spanish and French, as well as his native Turkish. Tarkan Tevetoğlu (; born 17 October 1972) is a German-born Turkish singer-songwriter. Since the early 1990s, with his successful albums, he has been a prominent figure of pop music, recognized both in Turkey and worldwide. Tarkan was born and raised in Alzey, Rhineland-Palatinate, in the-then West Germany. In 1986, he moved to Turkey together with his family. Tarkan, who had been interested in music since his childhood, went to high school at Karamürsel and took music lessons. In the following years, he met the owner of İstanbul Plak, Mehmet Söğütoğlu, and signed a contract to release his albums.
