Daybreak (2010 TV Programme)
''Daybreak'' is a British breakfast television programme that was broadcast on ITV (TV network), ITV from 6 September 2010 to 25 April 2014. ''Daybreak'' replaced ''GMTV (TV programme), GMTV'', which aired its last weekday edition on 3 September 2010. ''Daybreak'' launched three days later. In March 2014, ITV announced that the show would end later in 2014 to be replaced by the launch of ''Good Morning Britain (2014 TV programme), Good Morning Britain'' on 28 April 2014. History The decision to replace ''GMTV'' with ''Daybreak'' followed the full takeover of GMTV by ITV plc, ITV. ITV Breakfast Broadcasting Limited (previously known as ''GMTV, GMTV Limited'') is the national ITV (TV network), ITV breakfast television licensee, broadcasting in the United Kingdom. It became a wholly owned subsidiary of ITV plc in November 2009. ''GMTV'', as an on-screen brand name, ended on 3 September 2010, with the newly-rebranded ITV Breakfast launching new weekday breakfast programmes ''Daybreak (2010 TV programme), Daybreak'' and ''Lorraine (TV programme), Lorraine'' on 6 September 2010. ''5 News'' is the flagship news programme of British broadcaster 5. It is produced by ITN from its main newsroom on London's Gray's Inn Road, and has been broadcast since Channel 5's launch in March 1997.
