David Chamberlain
David Chamberlain (born December 25, 1975) is a cross-country skier from the United States. He was born and raised in Wilton, Maine and took up cross-country skiing in high school. He then attended Bates College, and was an All-American in skiing. After entering the professional cross-country ski circuit, he signed with Fischer Skis and raced with Fischer Boots, Skis and Bindings, before signing with Atomic Skis, Alpina Sports, and Rottefella from 2004 until 2006, and Fischer for the 2008–2009 season. As of 2014, Chamberlain lives in Bloomington, Minnesota with his wife BethAnn Chamberlain, who is a coach for US Paralympic Team. Competitive cross-country skiing encompasses a variety of race formats and course lengths. Rules of cross-country skiing are sanctioned by the International Ski Federation and by various national organizations. Wilton, Maine
Wilton is a town in Franklin County, Maine, United States. The population was 3,835 at the 2020 census. Situated beside Wilson Pond, the former mill town is today primarily a recreation area. History The land replaced an invalidated 1727 grant by Massachusetts to veterans for service in the French and Indian Wars. The first grant (now part of Manchester, New Hampshire) was originally dubbed Harrytown after a particularly dangerous Native American, then renamed Tyngstown for Captain William Tyng, leader of the expedition of " snowshoe men" that killed him in 1703. Abraham Butterfield, a settler from Wilton, New Hampshire, paid the cost of incorporation in 1803 to have the new town named after his former residence. Rottefella is a Norwegian manufacturing company of winter sports equipment, more specifically ski bindings. The name "Rottefella" refers to the three-pin binding invented by Bror With in 1927, inspired on a couple of rat traps he had seen in a hardware store. The binding were more formally known as the "75mm Nordic Norm". The binding was the standard for cross-country skiing for decades.
