This is a list of the various rulers of Auvergne. History In the 7th century Auvergne (province), Auvergne was disputed between the Franks and Aquitanians. It was later conquered by the Carolingians, and was integrated for a time into the kingdom of Aquitaine. The counts of Auvergne slowly became autonomous. The Dauphin is a French sounding rocket, flown six times between 1967 and 1979. It consists of a modification of the first stage of the Dragon with a larger payload nosecone. The Dauphin has a diameter of 56 centimetres, a launch weight of 1.132 metric tons, a length of 6.21 metres, a takeoff thrust of 90 newton (unit), kN and a ceiling of 150 kilometres. The Dauphin railway station is located in Dauphin, Manitoba, Canada. The station is served by Via Rail's Winnipeg – Churchill train. The station was built in 1912 by the Canadian Northern Railway to a design by architect John Schofield. The station was designated a Heritage Railway Station of Canada in 1990. The station was designated as a Manitoba historic site on 27 January 1998, and is marked with a Manitoba Heritage Council commemorative plaque. Dauphin Technology, Inc., often shortened to Dauphin, was an American computer and electronics company active from 1988 to 2006 and based in Illinois. The company was founded by Alan Yong and Lucy Yong in 1988 for the production of laptop computers. The company soon pivoted to the manufacture of palmtop PCs, releasing the DTR-1, a Cyrix Cx486SLC, 486SLC palmtop weighing and running Windows for Pen Computing, in 1993. The DTR-1 was a flop in the marketplace and was a major factor in Dauphin's bankruptcy in 1995, from which they emerged in 1996. ''Essex'' was an American whaling ship from Nantucket, Massachusetts, which was launched in 1799. On November 20, 1820, while at sea in the southern Pacific Ocean under the command of Captain George Pollard Jr., the ship was attacked and sunk by a sperm whale. About from the coast of South America, the 20-man crew was forced to make for land in three whaleboats with what food and water they could salvage from the wreck. After a month at sea the crew landed on the uninhabited Henderson Island. Three men elected to stay on the island, from which they were rescued in April 1821, while the remaining seventeen set off again for the coast of South America. The men suffered severe dehydration, starvation and exposure on the open ocean, and the survivors eventually resorted to cannibalism.
