Darren Smith (footballer, Born 1980)
Darren Smith (born 4 June 1980, in Edinburgh) is a Scottish former professional footballer and coach, currently with Bonnyrigg Rose. Smith has previously played for Berwick Rangers, Brechin City, Raith Rovers, Alloa Athletic, East Fife, Arbroath and Stirling Albion in the SPFL. Smith has also managed Tranent Juniors, Dalkeith Thistle and Newtongrange Star. Career Smith started his senior career at Berwick Rangers before signing for Brechin City in 2005. He moved to Scottish Football League First Division newcomers Raith Rovers in the summer of 2009. On Saturday 19 June 2010 he moved on to Alloa Athletic. On 4 June 2011, Smith moved on to East Fife. After two seasons at East Fife, Smith signed for Scottish League One side Arbroath on 21 June 2013. On 31 January 2014, Smith moved to Stirling Albion. The Scottish Football League First Division was the second tier in the Scottish football league system between 1975 and 2013. History The First Division was introduced in 1975–76 to replace the old Scottish Football League Division Two, as the top flight of the Scottish Football League was renamed from Division One to Premier Division. Tranent is a town in East Lothian (formerly Haddingtonshire), in the south-east of Scotland. The town lies 6 miles from the boundary of Edinburgh, and 9.1 miles from the city centre. Scottish Junior Cup
The Scottish Junior Cup is an annual football competition organised by the Scottish Junior Football Association. The competition has been held every year since the inception of the SJFA in 1886 and, as of the 2022–23 edition, 108 teams compete in the tournament. The cup has an unseeded knockout format with semi-finals over two legs and the final played at a neutral venue, always that of an SPFL club. Since the 2006–07 season, the winner of the Junior Cup Final has qualified for the following season's senior Scottish Cup. The competition is named the Macron Scottish Cup for sponsorship reasons. The Scottish Junior Football Association East Region Premiership, also known for sponsorship reasons as the McBookie.com East Premiership, was the highest division of the East Region of the Scottish Junior Football Association. From its inception in 2002 until 2020, it was known as the SJFA East Region Super League. Greig McDonald (born 12 May 1982 in Dunfermline) is a Scottish football player and manager. Greig is currently managing East Fife.
