Danny O'Quinn
Daniel O'Quinn Jr. (born May 7, 1985) is an American professional stock car racer from Coeburn, Virginia. Now retired, he competed in the NASCAR Nationwide Series and was a winner of the ''Roush Racing: Driver X'' competition. Background O'Quinn began racing go-karts at the age of 7 and won four championships. He won over 130 races, and one Tennessee state championship between 1992 and 1998. In 1999 he became the Street Stock rookie of the year at Lonesome Pine Raceway. He moved up to a late model car in 2000 and won the track championship and the Rookie of the Year award. In 2001, he raced both at Lonesome Pine and the ARA series. He had three wins and four poles. He also attended the University of Virginia's College at Wise in 2003–2005 but put his collegiate pursuits on hold as his professional racing career took off. Coeburn, Virginia
Coeburn is a coal town in Wise County, Virginia, United States, along the Guest River. The population was 2,139 at the 2010 census. History The Town of Coeburn was originally named Guest Station after explorer and surveyor Christopher Gist. Gist writes about the area of Coeburn in his trip journals of making camp in the area with his son, Tom. Incorporated in 1894, the Town changed its name from Guest Station to Coeburn after W. W. Coe, Chief Engineer of the N&W Railroad, and Judge W. E. Burns. The Tacoma School was listed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1997. Erik Louis Darnell (born December 2, 1982) is an American professional stock car racing driver. He is the grandson of former United States Automobile Club, USAC and NASCAR driver Bay Darnell, who also started three NASCAR races (including one for Holman Moody). Darnell formerly drove for Roush Fenway Racing, joining the team in 2005 after being a co-winner on the Discovery Channel program ''Roush Racing: Driver X'', along with David Ragan. The NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series is a pickup truck racing series owned and operated by the NASCAR, National Association for Stock Car Auto Racing (NASCAR), and is the only series in NASCAR to race production pickup truck-based stock car racing, stock cars. The Automobile Racing Club of America (ARCA) is an auto racing sanctioning body in the United States, founded in 1953 by John Marcum. A subsidiary of NASCAR since 2018, the current president of ARCA is Ron Drager, who took over the position in 1996 following the death of Bob Loga. A go-kart, also written as go-cart (often referred to as simply a kart), is a type of small sports car, close wheeled car, open-wheel car or quadracycle. Go-karts come in all shapes and forms, from non-motorised models to high-performance racing karts. Karting is a type of racing in which a compact four-wheel unit called a go-kart is used.
