Daniil Vladimirovich Tarasov (russian: Даниил Владимирович Тарасов; born June 20, 1991) is a Russian professional ice hockey player. He is currently playing with Avtomobilist Yekaterinburg of the Kontinental Hockey League (KHL). Playing career Undrafted, on June 1, 2012, the Worcester Sharks signed Tarasov to a standard American Hockey League contract for the 2012–13 season to become the first ever Russian-born player to skate for the Worcester Sharks. During his rookie AHL campaign Tarasov scored 14 goals and 14 assists for 28 points in 43 AHL games played, and he also skated in 17 games with the San Francisco Bulls of the ECHL. Worcester Sharks
The Worcester Sharks were a professional ice hockey team in the American Hockey League (AHL) that played from 2006 to 2015. Affiliated with the National Hockey League's San Jose Sharks and located in Worcester, Massachusetts, the Sharks played their home games at the DCU Center. History On November 9, 2004, the St. Louis Blues announced the sale of the Worcester IceCats to the owners of their ECHL affiliate, the Peoria Rivermen. The 2011–12 USHL season is the 33rd season of the United States Hockey League as an all-junior league. The regular season began on September 30, 2011, and concluded on April 14, 2012, with the regular season champion winning the Anderson Cup. The playoffs began on April 16, 2012, and completed on May 23, 2012. The top six teams from each conference competed for the Clark Cup. This season was the 20th season in which the same team captured both the Anderson Cup and the Clark Cup in the same season. Indiana Ice
The Indiana Ice was a Tier I junior ice hockey team and member club of the United States Hockey League (USHL) that was formed in 2004 when the Danville Wings were purchased and moved from their location in Danville, Illinois, to Indianapolis, Indiana. The Ice captured the regular season division titles in the 2007–08 and 2013–14 seasons and won the 2009 and 2014 Clark Cup titles. Before the 2012–13 season, the Ice played their home games at the Indiana Farmers Coliseum. United States Hockey League
The United States Hockey League (USHL) is the top junior ice hockey league sanctioned by USA Hockey. The league consists of 16 active teams located in the midwestern United States, for players between the ages of 16 and 21. The USHL is strictly amateur, allowing former players to compete in NCAA college hockey. The Waterloo Black Hawks are a Tier I junior ice hockey team playing in the Western Conference of the United States Hockey League (USHL) under president and general manager P.K. O'Handley. The Black Hawks' home ice is the Young Arena in Waterloo, Iowa. The Supreme Hockey League Championship (VHL-B) (russian: Первенство Высшей хоккейной лиги (ВХЛ-П), ''Pervenstvo Vysshaya hokkeinaya liga'') is an ice hockey league in Russia. Penalty (ice Hockey)
A penalty in ice hockey is a punishment for an infringement of the rules. Most penalties are enforced by sending the offending player to a penalty box for a set number of minutes. During the penalty the player may not participate in play. Penalties are called and enforced by the referee, or in some cases, the linesman. The offending team may not replace the player on the ice (although there are some exceptions, such as fighting), leaving them short-handed as opposed to full strength. When the opposing team is said to be on a '' power play'', they will have one more player on the ice than the short-handed team. The short-handed team is said to be "on the penalty kill" until the penalty expires and the penalized player returns to play. While standards vary somewhat between leagues, most leagues recognize several common varieties of penalties, as well as common infractions. In ice hockey, point has three contemporary meanings. Personal stat A point is awarded to a player for each goal scored or assist earned. The total number of goals plus assists equals total points. The Art Ross Trophy is awarded to the National Hockey League (NHL) player who leads the league in scoring points at the end of the regular season. Team stat Points are also awarded to assess standings (or rankings). Historically, teams were awarded two points for each win, one point for each tie and no points for a loss.
