D.C. Cab
''D.C. Cab'' (also known as ''Street Fleet'') is a 1983 American comedy film written and directed by Joel Schumacher, based on a story by Topper Carew and Schumacher, and starring Max Gail, Adam Baldwin, Mr. T, Charlie Barnett, Gary Busey, Marsha Warfield, Whitman Mayo, John Diehl, Bob Zmuda, Timothy Carey, Bill Maher, and Irene Cara. The film was released to negative reviews from critics, but Cara's song " The Dream (Hold On to Your Dream)" was a Top 40 hit, peaking at #37 on the Hot 100. Plot Naïve but good-natured young man Albert Hockenberry arrives in Washington, D.C., with plans to work for his late father's army buddy Harold Oswelt, owner of the run-down District of Columbia Cab company. Drew Struzan (; born March 18, 1947) is an American retired artist, illustrator and cover designer. The Dream (Hold On To Your Dream)
"The Dream (Hold On to Your Dream)" is a song written by Giorgio Moroder, Pete Bellotte, and the song's performer, Irene Cara, for the 1983 film ''D.C. Cab''. Although not included on initial pressings of Cara's '' What a Feelin''' LP, the decision to release the film four months earlier than originally slated prompted an arrangement for her album to be reissued with the song. A slightly different version (more noticeable in the intro) was also included on the film's soundtrack album; an edited version was released on the 7-inch single, and the 12-inch single included a much longer dance remix. Critics compared the song with her most recent soundtrack contribution, " Flashdance... What a Feeling" from the 1983 film ''Flashdance'', but Cara was credited with presenting a different vocal side in the new track in which she sang about the difficulties encountered before reaching her goal and the fact that she stayed committed to her belief in what she wanted to achieve. Bob Zmuda (born December 12, 1949) is an American writer, comedian, producer, and director best known for his collaboration with comedian and performance artist Andy Kaufman. Biography Zmuda occasionally portrayed Kaufman's Tony Clifton character on stage and for television appearances. In a 2006 interview, Zmuda told the '' Opie and Anthony Show'' that he was masquerading as Tony Clifton with David Letterman, and that Letterman did not find out until years later. In 1986, Zmuda founded the American version of ''Comic Relief'', an annual event that raises money to help the homeless in the United States. The event was televised on HBO, and was hosted by comedians Robin Williams, Billy Crystal and Whoopi Goldberg.
