Council Of European Energy Regulators
The Council of European Energy Regulators (CEER) is a non-profit organisation in which Europe's national energy regulators voluntarily cooperate to protect consumer interests and to facilitate the creation of a single, competitive and sustainable internal market for gas and electricity in Europe. Foundation and mission In March 2000, ten national energy regulatory authorities voluntarily signed a "Memorandum of Understanding" for the establishment of the Council of European Energy Regulators (CEER). CEER's objective is to facilitate cooperation among Europe's energy regulators in promoting a single-EU electricity and gas market. In 2003 the CEER was formally established as a "not-for-profit association" under Belgian law, with its own Brussels-based Secretariat. Agency For The Cooperation Of Energy Regulators
The European Union Agency for the Cooperation of Energy Regulators (ACER) is an Agency of the European Union by the Third Energy Package in 2009. It was established in 2010 and has its seat in Ljubljana, Slovenia. On 6 May, the administrative board designated Alberto Pototschnig as its first director. By deciding on their director and chairs, ACER took a step forward towards becoming fully operational. On 1 January 2020, Christian Pilgaard Zinglersen was appointed as ACER's second director. The basis for the establishment of ACER is Regulation 713/2009 of the European Parliament and the Council of 13 July 2009. The regulation describes the establishment and the legal status, tasks, organisation, and financial provisions. ACER is the second intergovernmental organization headquartered in Slovenia. European Regulators' Group For Electricity And Gas
The European Regulators' Group for Electricity and Gas (ERGEG) was an advisory group to the European Commission on internal energy market issues in Europe. ERGEG was set up by the European Commission to assist the commission in consolidating a single EU market for electricity and gas. ERGEG's members were the heads of the national energy regulatory authorities in the EU's 28 Member States. It was dissolved in 2011 when Agency for the Cooperation of Energy Regulators (ACER) took over its responsibilities. Energy markets are national and international regulated markets that deal specifically with the trade and supply of energy. Energy market may refer to an electricity market, but can also refer to other sources of energy. Typically energy development is the result of a government creating an energy policy that encourages the development of an energy industry in a competitive manner.
