Consultative Assembly Of Qatar
The Consultative Assembly ( ar, مجلس الشورى القطري, ''Majlis as-Shura''; also known as the Shura Council) is the legislative body of the State of Qatar, with 45 members. Following the 2021 Qatari general election, it has 30 elected members and 15 appointed members. The body can only question the prime minister, who is appointed by the Emir of Qatar, on his policies if two-thirds of the members agree, which is unlikely given that one-third of the members are appointed by the Emir. Constitutional role The Council was formed in April 1972 with 20 appointed members. In May 1972, the first consultative assembly meeting was held, during which Sayed Aziz bin Khalid Al Ghanim was elected as the assembly's first chairman. Hamda Bint Hassan Al-Sulaiti
Hamda bint Hassan Al Sulaiti is a Qatari politician. She is the Deputy Speaker in Qatar's Shura Council (Qatar), Shura Council. Life Al Sulaiti is CEO of the Scientific Excellence Award and Secretary General of the Qatar National Commission for Education, Culture and Science. In October 2021 she was one of two women appointed by Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al-Thani to Qatar's Shura Council. In the Shura Council's first sitting, Al Sulaiti was elected Deputy Speaker, beating Ali bin Saeed Al-Khayarin and Saad bin Ahmed Al-Misned. The political system of Qatar is a semi-constitutional monarchy with the emir as head of state and chief executive, and the prime minister as the head of government. Under the Constitution of Qatar, the partially-elected Consultative Assembly has a limited ability to reject legislation and dismiss ministers. The first general election was held in 2021. Sheikh Khalid bin Khalifa bin Abdul Aziz Al Thani ( ar, خالد بن خليفة بن عبد العزيز آل ثاني; born 1968) is a Qatari politician who has served as Prime Minister of Qatar and Minister of the Interior since 28 January 2020. Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani ( ar, تميم بن حمد بن خليفة آل ثاني; born 3 June 1980, Doha, Qatar) is the Emir of Qatar who succeeded his father, Sheikh Hamad, after Hamad abdicated in his favour. Tamim is the fourth son of Emir Hamad bin Khalifa. He became heir apparent in 2003 when his older brother Sheikh Jassim renounced his claim to the throne.
