Constitutional And Supervisory Committee (Iceland)
The Constitutional and Supervisory Committee ( is, Stjórnskipunar- og eftirlitsnefnd) is a standing committee of the Icelandic parliament. Standing Committee
A committee or commission is a body of one or more persons subordinate to a deliberative assembly. A committee is not itself considered to be a form of assembly. Usually, the assembly sends matters into a committee as a way to explore them more fully than would be possible if the assembly itself were considering them. Committees may have different functions and their types of work differ depending on the type of the organization and its needs. A member of a legislature may be delegated a committee assignment, which gives them the right to serve on a certain committee. Purpose A deliberative assembly may form a committee (or "commission") consisting of one or more persons to assist with the work of the assembly. For larger organizations, much work is done in committees. Ólöf Nordal
Ólöf Nordal (3 December 1966 – 8 February 2017) was an Icelandic politician who was the Minister of the Interior of Iceland from 4 December 2014 to 11 January 2017. She died on 8 February 2017. She was a member of the Independence Party. Early life Ólöf graduated from Reykjavík Upper Secondary School in 1986. She received a law degree from the University of Iceland in 1994 and an MBA from Reykjavík University in 2002. Career Ólöf worked as a teacher, lawyer, and in the administration prior to entering politics. She served as a department head in the Ministry of Transport and Communications from 1996 through 1999. Thereafter, she worked as a lawyer for the Iceland Stock Exchange from 1999 until 2001, and as an instructor of law at Bifröst University from 1999 until 2002, where she chaired the Business Law Department. Þráinn Bertelsson
Þráinn Bertelsson (born 30 November 1944) is an Icelandic film director, writer, politician, journalist and newspaper editor. He moved into politics in the wake of the financial crisis in 2008, and was elected a member of the Althing in 2009, initially for the Citizens' Movement. He later left the party to become an independent MP, before joining the Left-Green Movement, which he currently represents. The Progressive Party ( is, Framsóknarflokkurinn, FSF) is an agrarian political party in Iceland. For most of its history, the Progressive Party has governed with the Independence Party.
