Colorado's 4th Congressional District
Colorado's 4th congressional district is a congressional district in the U.S. state of Colorado. Located in the eastern part of the state, the district encompasses most of the rural Eastern Plains as well as the larger Colorado Front Range cities of Greeley, Longmont, Castle Rock, and Parker. The district is currently represented by Republican Ken Buck. With a Cook Partisan Voting Index rating of R+12, it is one of the most Republican districts in Colorado, especially since the 2012 redistricting removed Fort Collins from the district. No Democrat has seriously contested the district since 2010. Ken Buck
Kenneth Robert Buck (born February 16, 1959) is an American lawyer and politician who has represented Colorado's 4th congressional district in the United States House of Representatives since 2015. From March 30, 2019, to March 27, 2021, Buck served as chair of the Colorado Republican Party, having replaced Jeff Hays. Formerly the District Attorney for Weld County, Colorado, Buck ran unsuccessfully for U.S. Senate in 2010, narrowly losing to Democrat Michael Bennet. In Congress, Buck has emerged as one of the foremost proponents of antitrust enforcement in the Republican Party. Early life and education Buck was born in Ossining, New York, in 1959. He and his two brothers were encouraged by their parents, Ruth (Larsen) and James Buck, both New York lawyers, to attend Ivy League colleges. Elbert County is a county located in the U.S. state of Colorado. As of the 2020 census, the population was 26,062. The county seat is Kiowa and the largest town is Elizabeth. Elbert County is included in the Denver-Aurora- Lakewood, CO Metropolitan Statistical Area. History Elbert County was created on February 2, 1874, from the eastern portions of Douglas County. On February 6, 1874, the county was enlarged to include part of northern Greenwood County upon Greenwood's dissolution, and originally extended south and east of its present boundaries to reach to the Kansas state line. Weld County is a county located in the U.S. state of Colorado. As of the 2020 census, the population was 328,981. The county seat is Greeley. Washington County, Colorado
Washington County is a county located in the U.S. state of Colorado. As of the 2020 census, the population was 4,817. The county seat is Akron. The county was named in honor of the United States President George Washington. History Colorado State Legislature made Washington County out of larger Weld County in 1887.
